Chapter 10 (Mrs. Williams, Emily's Mother)

It was ten p.m. when I got the call. The call was from Jason and I really didn't understand why he was calling me so late. Maybe he found some information out that he wanted to tell me. Maybe he found Emily.

I picked up the phone in a hurry, wanting to know everything that he could tell me. Instead of Jason telling me what he knew like I had hoped, he screamed, "You need to find another, He has got me!" Then he was gone, he didn't hang up though becasue I was able to hear everything on the other line. I didn't understand what he had meant by the phone call, but I did become fearful and I began to listen into what was going on, on his side of the line.

I heard someone being thrown around and someone yell. I didn't understand what he was saying but I did know he was doing something to Jason. Something that made Jason call me and tell me that I needed to find another, and that someone had him. Maybe it was the same man that had Emily but I did not know.

"Jason!" I yelled into the phone.

There was no answer.

"Jason!"

Still nothing.

I began to get frantic, scared. I didn't know what to do but I had to do something. I had to find Jason, had to protect Jason. He was helping us in our quest to find Emily and I had to protect him. It was the right thing to do.

Getting up off the bed quickly not to disturb my husband, I got dressed and ran out the door. At first I didn't find anything but about two miles down the road I found Jason being thrown around like a rag doll. It didn't even look like anyone was throwing him around, it was as if he was being lifted by the wind and thrown out of sight.

Slowly, I hid behind one of the bushes near by hoping no one would see me. I needed to find something to help, something that would help in any possible way.

A few minutes passed and I finally found a big enough object to help. It was a metal rod at about two feet long with a sharp edge. It looked tough enough, strong enough. Now I only hoped it would work on this invisible person.

Slowly I got out from behind the bush, and ran toward Jason. He was laying on the ground, no movement to be seen around him or even from him. this scared me. It made me run faster, harder.

When I got to him I bent next to him. Felt for a beat of his heart and the pulse of his blood, there was none. I had been to late. Jason Harringson was dead by an unknown person. Know I understood just what he had meant when he said that 'He has got me!'.

"I will find out who it was," I said, "I promise." I told the dead body of Jason, and then I called the cops and backed away from the crime scence.

The cops and ambulance came about five minutes later, by then everyone on the road was outside whispering about what was happening. It was like high school again. Rumors were spreading about Jason's death, about what really happened to him but no one knew the truth but myself and the one who killed Jason, and Jason's soul himself, but it was way to late to ask Jason's soul who had killed him.

One of the cops came to ask me questions, and I told them that Jason had called me at about ten p.m. telling me that I needed to find another and that someone had got him. The cops asked what he had meant and I told him that my husband and I had hired him to look for our daughter. He just nodded and asked more about what had happened.

I told him how I left my house and ran to find Jason, only to find him being thrown around like a rag doll by thin air. Here the cop looked at me like I was crazy, and he even asked me if I had anything to drink that night. I told him no but he didn't seem to believe me. It was not my fault though, he wanted to know.
