I sat down in the carriage saying absolutely nothing.
All this hard work for nothing, I don't even understand why he came looking for me. Eve is literally all he could talk about and now suddenly I'm His?
If he's going to act like those corny men from those shit ass booktok books, can he at least be sexy? (Don't forget, Naomi ain't from here) To me any man talking to me crazy is disgusting enough but to have a man who looks like squid ward crushed his face in say that is spine curling.
He said something about how he knows I'm not from here, how he won't make the same mistake he did with the others.
Maybe he's the author behind the book? I don't know but him and Eve are so fucking strange.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you in this up coming battle, I won't let them take you from me again. I've come to realize my wrongs" He says so creepily.
He rubs his hand on my thigh and I hold myself back from hitting him. I just sigh and look out the window, the sound of rushing water, horse hooves and the suns rays do little to keep me calm.
"Once we get the witch to hand over her knowledge and gather up the mages, we can finally live our truth" Hendrick laughs.
"What are you talking about?" I ask annoyed and sneakily move my leg away from him.
"You see my beloved, Eve is somewhat like you...not from here. I think she's actually some higher being which can explain some things, she's just taking another place...
Princess Pricilla is the original crown princess" Hendrick explains to me.
I stare at him in complete shock and confusion. Not from here? Like me?
I mean I know everyone in this world to me is a story character but one of them actually isn't, and he's breaking the fourth wall, shouldn't something terrible be happening?

"What are you going on about?! You sound insane!" I sneer at him.
His face becomes unreadable before he opens his mouth again.
"Don't act dumb Naomi, I know everything. I don't know how Eve has the power that she does but I plan and swipe it from under her, you don't actually think I genuinely liked her?"
