Chapter 4- Where is she?

"What do you mean 'lost,'"

Mrs.Hammond questioned sternly, thrusting her hands unto the desk.

Mr and Mrs. Hammond had been at the police department questioning police since 10:00am. It was now 1:15pm, and they were getting nowhere.

"Ma'am, I've told you already a billion times," the polices said slowly dragging on, folding his hands unto his desk assuredly. "We haven't gotten connection with the plane she was on since 2 days ago when they were passing over Africa. The last we heard from the captain of her plane, was that the sky was looking a little dark, and that they were having a bumpy ride.

We are assuming that they either have a bad connection over there, or they might have possibly crashed somewhere in Africa, but of course that is very unlikely! We are trying to be positive, and hope for the best!"

"Hope for the best you say? How can you say that when hundreds of people just "disappeared" into nowhere, and your getting no connection? Doesn't that seem a bit odd to you officer? You're acting like every thing is peachy and normal, when in reality it isn't looking all that great, and the best you all can manage to do is sit on your rumps, and eat chocolate covered donuts all day!" Mrs. Hammond yelled, breaking into tears.

"Ma'am, look, please don't cry! I know your distressed right now about the unknown where about of your daughter-"

"Distressed am I? Is that all? How about GREATLY distressed, confused, hurt, worried, scared, and the list could go on about how I feel right now!" Mrs Hammond said, flinging her arms through the air, and crying so heavily now, she barely got out her sentence.

Mr. Hammond pulled her into him, hugged her close, and kissed her on the forehead.

"Honey, their doing the best they can. All we can do is just wait for them to find out where our daughter is, which I'm sure there is no need to panic. I'm sure she is doing just fine, enjoying the scenery down in Australia!"

But Mr. Hammond himself didn't even believe what he was saying.

Why wouldn't she have called?

Why did they lose connection with the plane?

Where'd all the others passengers disappear to?

Where IS my daughter?

Mr. Hammond shrugged his shoulders, trying to get rid of the ever tumbling questions within his head, and hugged Mrs. Hammond tighter hoping that his baby girl really was safe and sound in Australia.
