-AUTHOR'S POV-
Ayaan stood outside Naina's house, nervously holding a small box. He stared at it like it was a ticking bomb. "Kaise doon? 'Oh, Naina, I found this on the road-great luck, na?' Haan, great idea, Ayaan, bas yehi bol ke thappad khaana baaki hai"
(How to give her?----yes, great idea, Ayaan, say this and get slapped)
he muttered, rolling his eyes. "Ya fir... 'Kisi ne mujhe diya, aur mujhe jewellery ki zarurat nahi thi, toh-'"
(Or..'someone gave me this and I don't need jewellery so-)
"TOH kya, Ayaan?" a familiar voice said from behind..it was Naina
(SO what Ayaan?)
Her voice cut through his overthinking, and he almost dropped the box. Naina stood there, hands on her hips, eyebrows raised like she'd caught him stealing guavas from her tree.
"Tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?" she asked, stepping closer.
(What are you doing here?)
"Main... woh..." Ayaan stammered, clutching the box behind his back.
(I..was..)
But Naina was faster. "Acha? Yeh kya chhupa rahe ho?" she asked, snatching the box from his hand before he could protest.
