The sun had begun its slow descent, throwing a warm golden over the narrow lane outside Saanvi's house.

She stood at the edge of the gate, arms crossed, dressed in a pastel blue kurti, jhumkas swaying gently with the breeze. Her hair was open, falling in waves over her shoulders, and her expression?

Gussa. Well-pretend gussa. But Madhav didn't know that yet.

The sound of a bike broke the silence as Madhav finally rolled in, stopping right in front of her.

Helmet off. Hair slightly messy. Expression as stoic as ever.

Before he could say a word-

"8 minute late ho." Her voice was sharp, unimpressed. And she immediately turned away, walking in the opposite direction with deliberate grace.

(You're 8 minute late)

Madhav sighed dramatically, kicking his bike forward to roll beside her. "Arey suno toh!" he called, riding slowly to match her pace.

(Oho listen)

No reply. Only Saanvi's hand reaching up to flick her hair off her shoulder, the corner of her lips twitching into a secret smile.

"Arey baba! Beth jao na" he groaned, inching the bike closer again, leaning a little toward her

Still no reaction.

Until-

"Arey didiii! Bhaiya ki sun lo na!" a tiny voice squeaked.

Saanvi stopped. Turned.

And blinked.

Sitting adorably on Madhav's bike, right behind him, was a little girl with two ponytails, wide eyes, and a serious expression-like she'd taken Madhav's side personally.

Madhav casually glanced back and gestured at her like it was the most normal thing ever. "Ye Ayushi hai. Padosi ki bachi. Aaj Issey babysit karna hai"

(This is Ayushi. Neighbor's daughter. I have to babysit her today)

The little girl nodded mischievously

Saanvi burst out laughing despite herself, hiding her smile behind her hand.

"mujhe nhi pata tha ki tum babysit bhi karte ho" she said, walking back toward them, amused.

"didi bhaiya itne achhe se bol rahe hai, beth jao na...please!!" Ayushi showed her puppy eyes, Madhav winks at Ayushi.
