"This is how the game works."Steve started. We were in what he called sector 2. "On The first floor is the friend or enemy challenge where you will walk through it and people will pop-up at you and they will either be friends or an enemy. You have to decide in a moments notice. If you shoot wrong you're done. On the second level is the save the melon in distress. You have two minutes to save her or else she will be lowered by roped into a hole of mechanical teeth. In other words you fail the mission, easy enough."Steve finished, handing us a chicken and then showed us how to use them during the obstacle course.
"Who wants to go first?"Steve asked looking at me, Jarvis, Anzo, and Nathan.
Nathan looked at us seeing that none of us were volunteering. So he decided to volunteer himself.
Steve let us through door into the control room. There was a TV screen set up so we could watch Nathan's progress.
When the buzzer went off, Nathan started running. Men in ski mask and little girls would pop up and him, and he would shoot ones in the ski masks and avoid the little girls. He made it through that level with ease. Nathan climbed up the rope ladder and a timer for the second floor started. Two minutes to save the watermelon lady.
His first challenge was to pass the rope lasers. Kind of like finding your way around security lasers except these lasers were made out of ropes. Nathan was luckily extremely flexible, he made it through within 10 seconds.
Next was the 29ft Rock Wall. He again, made it up with ease. This took him about 20 seconds. Leaving him with 110 seconds.
The last stage was a zip line leading to where the melon lady was hanging over the machine with teeth. He took out his gun and used it to go down the zip line. He grabbed the melon and untied the rope and landed on the ground doing a backflip. He finished with 92 seconds to spare. He came down to the control room panting.
"How did I do?"Nathan asked out of breath.
"28 seconds, you still didn't manage to beat my high score of 10 seconds though." Steve said proudly smiling. Nathan rolled his eyes and looked over at us, "Who wants to go next?" Nathan asked.
Being the proud black belt that I was, I volunteered. I walk to the starting line with a loaded gun in hand and waited for the buzzer.
When I heard the buzzer I started running. The first person to pop out at me was a little girl, although at the time I didn't know that. I screamed and when I first saw her shot her at the base of the pop-up making a huge range of sparks. I continue doing this until I reached the rope ladder.
I climbed it with ease and moved onto the next stage. The next stage was the rope lasers and I managed to get myself tangled in every way you could get tangled in a rope. Next was the Rockwall. Luckily for me I wasn't scared of heights so I stuck my gun in my belt and started to climb. I then mimicked what Nathan did down the zip line and saved the watermelon. I slid down the pole to go to the mechanics to find the room was completely empty.
"Hello? Anyone there? Where did you all go?" I yelled out. I began to hear loud bangs and saw sparks of fire flying through the door.
My heart began to beat. I held my gun to my chest and began to walk out the door slowly. What I saw was horrific, completely unjustified.
My brother Jarvis sat their tools in hand fixing the pop up machines, that I may or may not have just broken. The other boys seemed to be completely in a trance by how fast he was working.
"Guys?" I muttered, also a little and awe of what he was doing. Nathan, Steve, and Anzo didn't hear me though.
"Done. See it really wasn't that hard I just stuck a few wires together." Jarvis said humbly. Wiping of the grease on his pants.
"That was amazing!" Steve yelled out. "Last time we broke the pop-up machine it took three whole weeks to fix it! And that was one of our S.H.E.I.L.D.'s best trained repair man!" The other boys kept drooling over his repairman skills asking him more and more questions about it. It was obvious by now that they knew I was standing there just choosing not to acknowledge my presence. I wasn't used to all the attention going to my brother since he was so shy. But now that he was getting all the attention I started to get a little jealous. I need a way to get the attention back to me, and I think I know just how to do that.
"I can't believe you didn't tell us about your talent sooner! What else are you hiding from us?" Anzo asked joking.
"You want to know a secrete he's been hiding from all of you?"I asked joining into the conversation. This may Jarvis go silent. I knew Steve was about to love what I would say next. I stepped behind Steve and whispered into his ear. "Jarvis has a crush on Sophia."
"What?" Steve yelled. Jarvis, Anzo, and Nathan starred at us confused.
"You have a crush on my little sister?" Steve asked/yelled. Jarvis blushed bright red and tried to deny it, but he was a bad liar. Needless to say the conversation was rather boring after that. We all laughed it off and went to go see what the girls were doing.
When we got there Mallory and Adela were shooting guns, and Sophia and Heddi were Sword fighting. Anzo went with Sophia and Heidi to sword fight, turns out he's a natural.
Nathan and Steve went upstairs and sector one to the gym/hangout room to show off you could lift more weight. Me and Jarvis went with a Adella and Mallory to the shooting range.
