Esther and Emilia sat together on a bench outside of the Malfoy Manor, the twi discussing the argument Esther and Sirius had yesterday.
"I called him a coward." Esther spoke softly, "I regret saying that, but in the moment I was so anger with him and how does not care."
"I say good on you." Emilia patted the girl on the back, "He deserved that, he should care just a little bit, I mean you twi are spending the rest go your life together."
Esther stiffed at the thought of spending the rest of her life with Sirius Black. She did not like that.
"Mum set up a manor for us to live in after the wedding." Esther spoke softly, trying to change the subject, "Small but plenty of room for many people, lots of rooms, could be cozy if I tried to make things less creepy."
"There is the good side of it." Emilia knowing how the girl didn't want to speak of her finance, "Could add some color, oh and make me a room so we can have plenty of sleepovers together." Esther smiled at the thought of living her Emilia.
"I'd love that." Esther happily smiled at her friend.
"I kissed him!" Esther blurted out. She clamped her mouth shut, Emilia sat wide eyes, mouth open.
Emilia blinked in shock, her hands frozen mid-gesture. "You what?"
Esther groaned, burying her face in her hands. "I kissed Sirius," she mumbled, her words muffled.
"No, no, no." Emilia leaned in, yanking Esther's hands away. "You don't get to mumble something like that. What happened?"
"It—it just happened!" Esther blurted out, her cheeks turning scarlet. "We were arguing. He was being infuriating as usual, and then—then we kissed."
"You're joking," Emilia said, her tone a mix of disbelief and delight. "You and Sirius Black, the man you loathe?"
"Don't remind me!" Esther hissed, pacing in front of the bench. "It was a moment of weakness."
"And?" Emilia pressed, a mischievous grin creeping onto her face. "How was it?"
Esther stopped pacing, looking anywhere but at Emilia. "It was... fine," she muttered, avoiding her friend's gaze.
"Fine? That's all you've got?" Emilia leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Come on, Esther. Spill. Did he kiss you back? Was it awkward? Was it... good?"
"Merlin, Emilia, stop!" Esther hissed, though her lips twitched upward in a reluctant smile. "It was... unexpected, okay? I don't even know if I'd call it good or bad. It just—happened."
Emilia crossed her arms, her grin widening. "You're blushing, Esther."
"I am not!" Esther snapped, her face heating further.
"You so are," Emilia teased, standing and looping her arm through Esther's. "So, what happens now? Are you going to tell him it meant nothing? Or are you secretly hoping for another round?"
Esther sighed deeply, shaking her head. "I don't know, Emilia. I just know that it was a mistake. Sirius and I—we're oil and water. This marriage is a disaster waiting to happen."
"And yet," Emilia said softly, "you're thinking about that kiss, aren't you?"
Esther bit her lip, her silence answering the question for her.

"Hello." Sirius spoke, the two had sat in silence, the two families were over for dinner, but the couples parents forced them to go outside for a walk beforehand. Esther thought back on what Emilia asked her.
