        I guess we fell asleep in that position, because i woke up to my face buried in Mest's chest as his arm was wrapped around me in a protective manner. i slowly lift his arm off of me, careful not to wake his snoring figure. then, i tiptoed over to the closet to get a day dress and a towel. i ended up picking out a deep red one with no sleeves and a halter neckline that flared slightly at the waist. it stopped right above the knee. then, i headed over to the bathroom.

        As i walked past, i caught a glimpse of my red, puffy, tear stained face in the hanging mirror. i paused and looked at my reflection in distaste as i ran my hand down my face. "ugh" i said. then, i headed towards the shower and turned it on max heat. i couldn't stand anything lower. as steam filled the tiled room, i let my long locks out of my top knot and stepped into the scalding water, sighing in relief. as the hot water fell on my shoulders and down my back, i felt all my troubles melt away like snow on a hill in spring. then, i shampooed and conditioned my hair before turning off the steamy water with hesitation. then, i stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my freezing body. after that, i dried and styled my hair in an intense part on the left side of my head, guiding most of my fiery locks to my right side. Then, i slipped into my dress and swept on just enough makeup to get by my mother before stepping out, into the cool bedroom. sending a shiver down my spine.

       I look over to my bed to see Mest stretching, a yawn escaping his thin lips. i giggled at the sound, causing him to towards me. "Morning bro" i stated sweetly, a smile slipping onto my face.  He just glared at me. " Don't talk to me yet" he said grumpily, his  voice still deep and scratchy from just waking up, as he rubbed his face with his hands. i just giggled 'well he isn't a morning person' i thought to myself as i went over to my jewelry case to get a few items. He then groggily got out of bed and went to his bag  get what he needed before heading to the bathroom. i then pulled out a gold twisted arm band and a necklace with a long leather cord with a pale green stone hanging from the end. i looked into the floor-length mirror and placed the arm band on my left arm, right above my elbow, and put on the necklace. After that, i went to my closet to get my gold gladiator shoes. Then I plopped on the couch with my headphones blasting the top 40.

           After about 10 minutes, Mest appeared out of the bathroom in brown shoes, navy pants, and a dark green shirt. "Feeling any better mr. Grumpus?" I teased as I pulled my earbuds out of my ears. " actually yes, I feel quite refreshed" he stated, going along with my joke. He then sat next to me on the plush couch. "So, mind telling me what happened last night?" He asked, more serious. I just froze, memories of last nights' nightmare filling my mind's eye. He noticed this. "Sorry, I shouldn't have asked so suddenly" he stated. "Don't worry about it. It was just a flashback of a long ago incident" I stated. "Ok. Well if you want to talk about it, just let me know. I'm all ears" he said kindly, turquoise eyes gleaming. "Thanks, I'll take you up on that a little later" I whispered, letting my head fall onto his broad shoulder. I closed my eyes and relished the warmth it gave me. I looked up at his face with a goofy grin which he gladly returned. Then we heard a knocking at the door.

M E S T

          I woke up to the sound of a hair dryer. I slowly turn to see Amelia gone from the bed. 'I guess she's already up' I thought. Then I groaned, my throat dry. Then, I turn over in the sheets to turn on the the lights. The soft roar of the blow dryer was cut off, signaling that she was satisfied with the outcome. I finally forced my body to slowly sit up, my body still stiff. Then, I stretch out my arms, creating a somewhat 'star' shape with my body as I popped my back, a yawn escaping my lips in the process. I hear a small giggle and look towards the source. I find Amelia, already dressed and ready, standing by the bathroom door, a smile on her lips.
