T H E   N E X T   D A Y

A M E L I A

            I woke up in the living room on the soft leather couch, cuddling Lily. My feet were on Gajeel's lap, and levy was curled up on his side, his arm around her. His head was leaned back, a soft rumbling emitting from his throat. I smiled at the sight. They were so cute together. I guess we fell asleep during the last movie. I looked over to the big old grandfather clock on the wall and saw that it was well past 1:00pm. Oops. So, I got up gently, careful not to wake Gajeel as I lifted my legs off of him. Then I set Lily down next to him and headed to the kitchen to make the usual: pancakes.

            A few minutes into my pancake flipping, a deep, hoarse shouted "Who's there! Show yourself!". I jumped and screamed. "AHHHHH" I yelled,  holding up the frying pan like a shield. There was a pause. "Amelia?" The voice said a bit softer. I slowly peeked over the pan, only to see Lily in his big form, sword drawn. "Lily! What the hell?!" I say, setting down the pan. He relaxed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry Amelia, I woke up and saw that you were gone, then I heard movement in the kitchen and I guess I panicked." He explained as he put up his sword. I felt myself relax as I let out a sigh.

     
        "Oh, well thanks for looking out for me I guess." I say as turn back to the pancakes, flipping them under my leg and back onto the pan. Then I turned to his amused face. "What?" I asked. "Your pancake flipping" he said. I smiled. "Yeah. I get bored so I taught myself a few little tricks" I said. He chuckled. Something in that moment clicked. A hazy image flashed through my mind, but I just couldn't make it out. I stumbled back a bit. Pantherlily came over and put a hand on my shoulder to steady me.

        "Are you ok Amelia?" He asked, snapping me out of my daze. I stumbled a bit and turned to him. He looked intimidating, yet reminded me of the monstrous man i saw in my flashback. I nodded slowly as I stood up, no longer leaning on him. "Yeah sorry, i just remembered something. He nodded. I stared at him, trying to piece together the fragments of the flashback. i stumbled back, the flashback yet again, taking over my vision. Lily turned into a man with dark brown hair, and intense, wild. maroon eyes. i gasped in fear as he turned back into the lily i knew.  

"Amelia" he stated sternly, pulling me out of the frightening daze. "oh, sorry. Yo-you just looked kinda like the person i saw in the flashback. it was almost like you turned into him for a minute there." i explain with a sigh, putting my hand on my head. Then a tired looking Gajeel and Levy stumbled into the kitchen.

          "Gosh Lily, chill out." Gajeel said as he rubbed his eyes with his fist. Levy chuckled. Why are you in your big form?" She asked the cat. "I woke up and Amelia wasn't around, and then I heard sounds coming from the kitchen. I thought that someone had tried to kidnap her again , but she was just making breakfast." He explained after he went back to his normal size. Gajeel snickered as he sat down at the kitchen table. " Wow, you might be more protective of Vibra than me" he said, amused. I rolled my eyes.

           Lily huffed. "Thanks, but I don't need anyone's protection." I say with a smile as I go back to flipping pancakes. Levy smirked. "I wouldn't be so sure about that now that the boys are fighting over you."she said as she leaned on Gajeel's shoulder. I scoffed. "I can handle those two. I took Natsu out in one punch, remember? If they get to close for comfort, I can push them back myself." I say as I set the last pancake on the plate. "Whatever Vibra" Gajeel said with a smirk. "Shut it Gaj" I said as I set the tower of pancakes on the table. He rolled his eyes as he took a third of the stack. I did the same, leaving the last third for Pantherlily and Levy to split since they don't have dragon appetites.
