Priscilla and Richy were quite close during the search for Hannah, but their connection remained after. At least that was what their mutual friends were sure of. In chats, she could brush off messages that "Pris and Richy are a wonderful couple" but when, at the request of the guys, she came from her town — it was very close to Duskwood — to help prepare for the festival in time, everything began.
No, she actually liked Richy. He's a good guy, a wonderful friend, but just an interesting person with whom Priscilla could talk for hours and she never got bored. She is sure that they are friends and there is no reason for more.
And even if somewhere deep down Priscilla knew that she has feelings a little different from friendly ones... Richy definitely couldn't pay attention to her. She is generally sure that he is in love with Jessy and did not want to impose.
But mutual friends decided differently and during the preparation for the festival they constantly found themselves together. Sometimes they refused a general meeting at the last moment, then they distributed tasks so that Priscilla and Richy were sure to be paired. But this time, friends have literally exceeded all your expectations.
"I never thought I'd be trapped in my own workshop," Richy chuckled.
"Mmm, yeah, me too. How come you don't have a key?"
"Jessy asked it this morning," he was looking at the phone screen with much more attention than he had ever looked at her. "And now she doesn't go online and doesn't pick up the phone."
"Wonderful."
Priscilla sighed, pretending to be looking at a rack of tools that she didn't really understand anything about. It seemed that if you breathe evenly, all your anger would evaporate. She liked Jessy. And she liked Richy. But separately. Every time one of them mentioned the other, she felt something like how a boiling kettle must feel. Only it wasn't water boiling inside, but the darkest emotions. She was jealous, although she shouldn't have been, because she and Richy... no, the three of them were just friends, but it was like they existed in three different worlds.
Jessy was sure Richy liked Priscilla.
Priscilla was sure Richy liked Jessy.
And only Richy didn't seem to think about the fact that he was in love with someone.
"You know, Pris, ever since you arrived, I have a feeling that our friends are trying to achieve something."
"Of course. They continue their jokes from the chat about the fact that we are the perfect couple. Nonsense, right?"
"Yeah... nonsense."
Priscilla turned her head a little. Just in time to see how longingly he was looking at her.
"Is something wrong?"
She went up to him, tried to look into his eyes, but he studied every detail in a well-known room just to hide his gaze.
"I just thought that after all we can spend the whole day here, but we won't help anyone."
"Ah, that's how. Yes, you're right."
She felt with her skin that the tension in the room was growing by the minute. There were no usual jokes, which are always understandable only to the two of them. There were no smiles, from the exchange of which it always seemed to become warmer. And it became more difficult to withstand it. Priscilla couldn't understand what was going on. Perhaps her behavior from the outside also seemed strange, but she was thinking about Richy and that it was completely unusual for her to see him like this. Sometimes Priscilla let herself get discouraged, but Richy never did. Therefore…
"You remember that you can talk to me if something is wrong, right?"
"I remember, thank you." Richy smiled, but somehow artificially, and in his eyes she saw the same trace of longing. "But everything is fine."
She sighed. That 's always how he is…
Priscilla looked at him seriously and suddenly thought that if both of them were uncomfortable with these meetings, they should do everything to stop them. Friends wanted them to talk, right?
"Listen, Richy… I need some advice." Moving a little to the side, she sat down on the floor and hugged her knees.
"Of course. What's the matter?"
"Well, it concerns one of my friends. She… She likes one guy, but she is sure that he is in love with another girl. And she doesn't know what to do. I gave her advice, but I'm also interested in a man's view of the situation. And since we're friends…"
"Well. Maybe she should tell him straight out? Both you and I know that sometimes things are not what they seem. They can go have coffee together and talk. Even if her assumptions are correct, it's better than torturing yourself with guesses."
"Is that so? Well, thank you," Priscilla smiled. "Richy?"
"Mmm?"
"If you have some time, maybe we can go for coffee when they let us out?"
She raised her head. Richy was smiling, realizing what had just happened.
"Let's go, Priscilla."
