A/n: this text is really old and awkward one but somehow I like it in a strange way.

"There's a lot of you."

Jake glanced around at the guests, realizing that there were four more people in his apartment than usual. And three more than he was willing to accept here. Crossing his arms on his chest, Jake frowned, trying to show that he didn't want a bunch of people here. Whether the group was serious or whether Jake seemed threatening only to himself, no one was going to leave.

"You said it was important and about Hannah, so I agreed to listen. What are they doing here?"

Jake glared at Thomas, but he remained calm.

"Hmm, yeah, you know... When I was on my way here, I met the guys by accident..."

"...and couldn't keep your mouth shut."

"And it turns out they'd seen the same thing."

"You're saying this isn't just about Hannah?"

"Jessy," Dan added.

"And Lilly and Cleo," Richy continued.

"And Sherry, too," Thomas finished.

And he'd guessed it. When he heard the last name, Jake flinched, hastily shoved his hands in his pockets, and slouched a little. Had he told 'Sherry'? What could she have to do with all this? She hadn't said anything suspicious during their conversations... Well, sort of. On the other hand, if they were all involved in some dangerous adventure, she might not have said anything to worry him. That seemed to be her style. But he'd promised he wouldn't spy on her after the investigation was over. Damn it. Something has to be done about this.

"Pfft, I told you, that new messenger of theirs has too much security for a hackerboy."

"Which messenger? What security? Can you not talk in riddles?"

Thomas looked around as if looking for a foothold, but found only a wall: the young hacker's apartment was practically empty. He had to lean against the wall.

"Well, I noticed it a couple weeks ago. Hannah started acting weird. Well, not like last time. It's just that she's always looking at her phone and mumbling in concentration. And she's not paying attention to the world around her at all. At first I thought she was just socializing, but she's barely online... Why are you doing this?"

"Huh?" Jake didn't even realize the last part of that sentence was meant for him at first, and he was a little confused. "What?"

Before Thomas could explain, Dan pointed to the thin silver ring on Jake's finger, which he kept twisting.

"You're going to make a hole in your finger, hackerboy."

"Worried, Dan?" Richy smiled, slapping his buddy on the back. "Sherry would be pleased."

"Yeah, yeah," he grumbled. "He doesn't even piss me off. In fact, we're beeesties, and it's just a habit."

"It's just a habit," Jake muttered, slowly lowering his hand and looking through the company. "It helps to think," he glanced at Dan at that phrase, making him frown. The words weren't spoken, but Dan was sure the hurtful remark hidden in the subtext was meant for him. "So what's up with Hannah?"

"And she wouldn't answer if something was wrong. Then I happened to see a new app on Hannah's phone. It was password protected, but I accidentally found out it was a messenger."

"Is that what you call 'accidentally found out' now? Not even 'got into her phone when I had the chance'"?

"Is that what you're worried about right now?"
