December 33rd, fourteen twenty.

Steve had made a big break the day before, taking 2 horses and a satchel filled with food. Then he left, with both princesses and the prince in his care. They spent the rest of the day and much of the night riding to get as far away from the castle as possible.

They stopped to rest, and awoke to begin forming a plan. "There is not much for us to do but let them do as they please." Edric states. "The voice said they had eyes everywhere, we're done for."

Gelato snorts, nuzzling Amity who leans further into him, frowning. "And with Luz in a different state, it's unfortunate to assume that the king and queen are.." Amity bites her lip.

The silence is heavy, and the horses stand. "Please let us lead. I know where we should go." Gelato nudges Amity, turning his head and snorting to his saddle. "Come on."

"Where are we going?" Amity strokes his side. "There is nowhere for us to go."

"Yes, yes there is." Gelato stomps his hooves, nudging his saddle. "I know you can't understand me but I implore you to trust me anyways. Please Amity, we must go now."

Steve stands, patting himself down, "Animals have a greater sense of danger, I'm sure they know what sort of trouble we're in. Let's see where Gelato wants us to go."

Calypso squeals, lowering himself slightly so Emira can pull herself up from his saddle. She jumps up to his back, Edric quickly joining her as Steve joins Amity on Gelato. "Where to, Gelato?"

"Far. Very far and dangerous. But thanks to our long night, we're nearby." Gelato snorts softly. "We're joining the war."

Hunter sighs, rubbing the sweat from his head as he nears his bunk. "Wittebane."

"Noooo.." He sighs, turning. "What.."

"We've got 4 friendlies approaching."

He rubs his eyes, "Friendlies? How are you sure.."

"They bear white flags, and the horse we noticed was one you rode weeks ago."

Hunter turns, "Weeks ago? When Luz was still here..- Has she returned?" He brightens. "Yes, please, guide me to her-"

"Yes sir." He bows turning to exit the underground barracks.

Hunter eagerly follows, being led to the guarded post, where two stallions approached. "Luz!" He grins.

Paco whinnies, slowing down, kicking up a small cloud of dust and trotting to Hunter. Luz slides off his saddle, stepping towards Hunter. "Luz, you look beat. The healer has just returned, are you-"

Snorting, Paco nudges Hunter, urging him to step back a bit. The second horse approaches, fur patterned as the stars, Vee on its back. Her body creaks as she slides off her horse's back, steps heavy as she staggers to stand by Luz. "Hunter. Please guide me to the healer. I must return to the front lines." Luz lulls.

"Ah..Yes, let's go." Hunter scratches his nose, staring into her deep blue eyes.

Luz tips her head forward slightly, murming softly as she walks by Hunter. Paco lowers his head as the patterned horse struts past him, wincing when it snorts his way. "Such a waste." The horse sighs, glancing around.

The starry pattern darkens, and the horse falls limp into a heap of wood. Paco shudders, stepping over the body and trotting after Luz and Hunter. "Luz, you have fallen into our Emperor's magic. You are a fool! But you are my fool, and I will stick with you." Paco wheezes. "I'd kick you but that's mean."
