Kind of mature... so keep that in mindThe pain was surreal.
I missed him so much.
My heart was shattered.
I couldn't go on.
I ended up staying with Kian and Jc for a while before I decided to fly back home.
The whole plane ride there was filled with depressing songs and depressing thoughts that wouldn't go away.
My dad smiled as he saw me in the airport and I ran into his arms as he hugged me tightly.
--------
"So you guys aren't together?"
"I guess not. The pain hurts so bad, Dad. I can't move on."
He patted my leg as he continued to stare at the road, and I stared out of my window.
--------------
"Your mother called and she's worried about you."
"Mom, worried? Since Connor's death I never want to see her again."
"We agreed you need to stay a weekend with her, Iris."
"Dad! That's not fair! What is my life now, some kind of game? At least let me bring a long someone so I'm not stranded there by all the fakeness."
"Fine. You leave tomorrow."
Who should I bring?
Melissa? She's been distant.
Matt? He's probably busy.
Kian? I've seen him enough lately.
Who...?
I scroll through the contacts on my phone and stop at the C's and look frantically.
I wonder if Cameron is busy....
I dial his number and wait frantically to hear his voice.
"Helloooo?" I hear a groggy voice answer.
"Hey Cam, it's Iris."
"Yo Iris, what's up? How have you been?" I instantly hear his voice get lighter.
"A lot. I was wondering if you could spend the weekend with me... At my mom's house."
"Yeah, I have nothing to do this week anyways. Give me the address and I'll catch a car there?"
"Ok, yeah. I'll text you the deets."
"Sweet. See you then!"
And that was that.
Cameron was really friendly and funny to me on the tour and he was my best guy friend.
Maybe having him at my mom's wouldn't be that bad after all?
-----------
The nightmares I would get each night would get worse.
"Iris, I don't love you anymore. you're not wanted. Forget this all happened. I'm just a memory in your head."
Was it all fake?
"Aaron this was real. Stop pushing me away, I'm at the breaking point."
"Iris...."
And it would always end there.
I miss him so much, but I need to get back to reality.
