"Are you sure? I can come in there with you." I walked into the small cafe, looking around for the last person I wanted to agree with seeing.
"Yes baby I'm sure. I got this." I smiled softly at her. She kissed the back of my hand before rubbing her thumb across the area.
"Alright, you know I'm only a call and 5 minutes away." I laughed at what she said but accepted it anyway.
"Yes baby I know. I'll call you when I'm finish." I grabbed my phone before preparing to exit out of the car.
"Okay, I love Gizzyyyy." I rolled my eyes at the new nickname she gave to me.
"Stop calling me that. But, I love you too my love." I gave her a kiss before walking into the cafe. It was dimly lit most likely due to the sunshine outside. It had a soft comfortable aura to it. The smell of coffee filled my nose as the softness of jazz filled my ears.
I notice Ermias deep into his phone before walking over to him. I cleared my throat causing him to pop his head up and he just stared at me.
He snapped out of it and put his phone into his pocket.
"You want anything?" I shook my head.
"I already ate."
"You look good, Beyoncé." He complimented.
"Thank you, so do you." I kept brief. He looked, healthier? If that was a world to describe it. The last time I remember Ermias, he was really slim.
"You seem happy. I love that for you." I just nodded my head. I began to look around the cafe. It a modern styled cafe. It was kind of bland honestly, like every other cafe you'd see around town or even in the movies.
For them to have so much good vibes going on, the decor wasn't spot on.
"So, Kaiden.."
"Why now?" I asked immediately.
"Why what now?"
"Why did you decide to come back around now?" I asked him. I feel like it was a fair question. What made you want to randomly pop up after being gone for all this time?
"I want to take my responsibilities as a father. I've really struggled around that time. I've been wanting to reach out to you, just no way. The guilt of letting go ate me up, constant pleads. That's not a good enough excuse for you but situations like that make you sit and think is it worth it? Should I just let it be? I'm honestly happy I did run into him that day. He grew up so quick and handsome." He tried to excuse but I just rolled my eyes.
