Chapter 24: Reunited

~Husk's POV~

As a gun shot was heard I felt a pain in my body. Extreme pain. "Husk! Husky?! Don't do this to me..!" Angel cried. "Don't cry.." I tried to say, but nothing came out.

Dark.. Why is it so dark out? I swear it was the middle of the day. I blinked, seeing Angel break down into tears.. I want to hold him.

I slightly shifted my gaze catching a glimpse of Valentino. He did this.. He hurt Angel. Slowly but surely my vision went blurry and dark and with only a few more blinks it was all dark. All of the audio I had heard previously was gone.

Was it possible I was dead again? But that didn't make sense, not at all.

Darkness surrounded me as I opened my eyes, my body seemingly glowing slightly only enough for me to see two feet in front of myself. In a flash a bright door appeared in front of me, my eyes narrowed, the light almost blinding. I placed a hand in front of my face to create a shadow so I could see a bit clearly.

I took a step forward then another and another until I was in front of the door. I put my right foot in before getting yanked inside. The bright light consumed me and everything was now white, then I was laying on a road. It was golden. I blinked, standing up as I walked along the road. The road ended as I spotted a golden gate. "Heaven?" I whispered to myself. I looked at the "ground" which was now clouds, no more golden road. I swallowed slightly as I made way towards the gate.

~No One's POV~

An angelic angel sat at a somewhat desk, a huge book in front of him. He glanced up to look at whoever's footsteps he was hearing. He spotted the bright/golden-themed cat-like person. He smiled. "Hiya! Can I get your name please?" "Uh, Henry Briner..?" He let out an uncertained tone, unsure if that was truly his name. The books of the pages flew in a few different directions until finding Henry's name.

"Ah, Henry Brenir. A usual mistake." St. Peter smiled, the heavenly gates opened. Henry, or his preferred name, Husk, walked in the gates. He walked into heaven, a golden splash of color marking the way he died. He walked down the main road, a sign reading "CAELESTIS ROAD" possibly the road name.

(Translation: caelestis = heavenly).

He walked down caelestis road, spotting a spider-looking angel. He blinked. Was Angel in heaven? He ran over to the person, tapping them on the shoulder. "Angel..?"

The spider-like angel turned around, blinking in confusion. It was a girl, a female. She gently smiled still looking confused. "My name's Molly.." She slightly did a curtsy. He sighed but not in disappointment. "I... Apologize.... I thought you were a friend, his name is Anthony.."

"Anthony? Does he have a similar appearance to me?" She asked, "you see, my family who gets sent to heaven usually all look like spiders.." Husk nodded as he listened before speaking. "Yeah, he does look a lot like you.."

He smiled softly, Molly's smile slightly growing as he did.

"You look new around here, you want me to show were you'll be living?" Molly asked, gesturing towards another road. Husk nodded.

They began to walk towards what looked to be a little neighborhood. A small house was at the end. Slowly the name "Henry Brenir" was engraved on to the mailbox. Husk pointed to the house. "I believe that's my house."

"Ah, you live close by! I live just down that way, about two houses away from yours. My friend Sir Pentious lives in the house across from you. Though, Sir Pentious isn't his real name, he likes that name."

He paused, "Sir Pentious is here..?" He asked before a half-snake half-man walked out of a house. The colors of his body were similar to Husks.

"Oh, do you know him?" She asked before waving to Sir Pentious. Sir Pentious waved back, his eyes slightly widening as he spotted Husk. He rushed over. "Husssskkk?" Sir Pentious smiled.

Husk nodded with a smile.

"It seems you both are friends?" Molly said with a smile. Sir Pentious softly said, "why yessss. Husskk, why don't we catch up?" Husk replied, "sure." They began to walk towards their houses before a voice said, "wait.. We're here to take Henry Brenir in, we need to greet him properly." Molly did a curtsy, grabbing a hold of Sir Pentious's hand before pulling him towards her house. They waved towards Husk and Husk waved back before walking with the angel.

The angel didn't talk, only the sound of the rest of heaven filled his ears.

"Sooo.. Why am I going with you?" Husk broke the silence, looking at the angel. The angel only looked at Husk for a second before looking straight. "We believe you can be recruited.."

"Recruited? Recruited in what?" He asked.

"You know the... Extermination in hell?"

Husk nodded. "Because of the fight you and your friends put up against us, we needed more soldiers, and not just females. We've recruited a dozen men but we need one more for us to be ready."

"Ha! And what makes you think I'd be interested?" Husk laughed, crossing his arms.

"Don't you want to see Angel? Well, if you join us, in just a few months you will be able to see him."

"How do you know who Angel is?" Husk growled as they continued walking into a Golden palace. The doors of the palace opened and the smell of sweat was evident. They made their way inside as the doors closed.

Constant training and training took place inside the palace. Sweat and blood leaked on the floor. Only 13 men were in the army, that included Husk. Months have passed and it was finally the night of the extermination...

The moment of truth awaited Husk as he put on his mask. 7 a.m... a portal opened in front of the army, the new recruits at the back as Lute pointed at the portal.

"Now, I can't go because of what that cunt Vaggie did to me but I know you guys can! Make Adam proud and kill every Imp and Sinner in sight until midnight!" Lute yelled.

The army erupted with whoops and cheers as they dived down into Hell. Husk and a few others were sent to the East of the pride ring.

With the mask on, it made it quite easier to kill sinners. To Husk everyone was Valentino and it was as if Valentino was taunting him. In Husk's eyes Valentino would run from him with that big grin. Leading him.

That was until he spotted Valentino laying down under a bridge. He walked over and held his spear. "Valentino"'s eyes opened as they fought.

Husk managed to stab the Sinner's leg before the mask came off. That's when they both stopped.

"Husk...?" Angel whispered.

Husk paused, everything going back the way it was. Angel now in front of him. His eyes widened as he saw what he did to Angel.

"Angel... I-" Husk tried to explain but Angel stood up, grabbing the spear.

"You became an exterminator?!" Angel yelled as he pointed the tip of the spear to Husk's neck.

"I did it to see you..!"

"Bullshit! The Husk I know wouldn't team up with the enemy to see me." He accused.

"It's true! You have to believe me!" Husk yelled back.

"I don't trust traitors.." He pressed the spear against his neck, not hard but hard enough to make him bleed slightly.

"Why would I lie to the one man I died saving?" He growled. Angel paused. Angel dropped the spear as he rushed to hug Husk, tears going down his face.

Were they finally going to stay together and not leave each other?

Nevertheless, they were reunited....

OMGGGG I CANT BELIEVE THERE ARE 2 CHAPTERS LEFT!! I HOPE U LIKED THIS LONG ASS CHAPTER. 😭😭

So the last 2 chapters MUST HAVE 2000 words or more cuz of how short the others are. I've been focused on this book so after I publish this I'ma work on Depression.
