Chapter 7 || Full
Ace felt better in her new fresh clothes. While they didn't quite match her sense of style, she had never really had much of one to begin with, so it didn't bother her.
The baggy blue shirt fit her alright enough, however the shorts were a bit loose around the waist, leading her to tie a loose bit of fabric through the belt loops as a makeshift sort of belt.
A temporary fix, that made the shorts sit oddly. But the shirt was baggy enough that it covered all the weird wrinkles.
Once she got her monthly allowance, she swore that clothes were a top priority.
Not that she wasn't grateful to Sasuke for leaving her some spare, she just wanted something that fit a bit better and wasn't that weird navy blue everyone seemed to be dressing her in.
Ace stepped out into the world, her hair still damp and hanging loose at her shoulders, left to dry. She had done her best to towel dry, but with no access to a hairdryer she was left damp.
Taking a deep breath and filling her lungs with the morning air, she steels herself for the day, closing her apartment door and locking it behind her, not used to how shiny and new the key was.
She examined the key thoughtfully, looking at her reflection in the shine as she makes her way around the corner to the mailbox block to find her number. Matching the engraving on the handle of the key.
According to the Hokage's note, her monthly allowance starts today. And just in time, because she was starving. Having not had anything to eat since the previous morning in the hospital.
The allowance was presented in a cute little bag, filled with coins, perfect to go in a handbag or pocket on her day out.
Her test with the academy guy wasn't until after school hours, so she had a whole day ahead of her to settle in and explore her new neighbourhood.
The streets were quiet so early in the morning, shop owners were only just setting up, chattering amongst themselves as they put out chairs or tables of goods.
The sun was peeking through the mountains now, showering the village in golden sunlight. It's beautiful here Ace thought to herself, taking in every inch of the scene around her.
With a loudly gurgling stomach, she finds herself wandering into the first Cafe that's open. It was a cute little place still along the same street as her apartment.
"Good morning!" The old man behind the counter greets, waving to the girl as she wanders in looking around, taking in the decor.
"Good morning" Ace returns with a smile. Everyone was so nice in the village.
It was a cute little store, with light salmon pink walls and plants hung up along the windows, where the sunlight filtered through little glass balls hung alongside them, creating little rainbows throughout the room.
There were four tables in total, the entire cafe being on the smaller side.
Ace finds herself seated at the table closest to the counter, looking over the little wooden menu set in the middle.
There were only breakfast and brunch options listed, but even just reading her options her stomach was growling.
"Are you new to Konoha? I don't think I've seen you here before." The old man pipes up from the counter, finishing up setting everything in its place.
Ace looks over at him and nods politely, "Yeah, I am" she affirms.
The man grins "welcome!" He flourishes, spreading his arms wide.
