Chapter 2: Sasuke

There's a strong silence that takes over the room, everyone inside watching Ace. Her face had shown her shock plainly the moment Sasuke had entered.

It was honestly uncanny how much he looked like Ace's brother Chance. She couldn't help the disbelief that was surely evident in every part of her expression.

"Do you know this boy?" The Hokage questions, noticing the tension on Ace's face

Ace nearly grimaces to herself, realising how plainly her thoughts had been written on her face. "No, I uh, no I don't" she chuckles awkwardly "I thought he was someone else I knew"

Knowing that she had ended up in somewhere physically impossible actually brought her quite a bit of comfort. Everything felt much less serious. After all this had to be some weird dream right?

"Who?" The boy speaks, surprising Ace a little bit. He didn't seem like the curious type to her, More so the quiet brooding type.

Almost on reflex Ace awkwardly glanced back to her brother's hoodie to avoid the question, telling the two adults all they needed to know.

finally catching the state it had been left in, her stomach sinks at the sight.

The arm had been charred all the way up to the shoulder, the cuff having split into two or three bits.

"You don't have to answer that if you don't want to" Kakashi jumps in, seeming to read the discomfort in her body language. "I mean you two haven't even done your introductions yet" he... Smiles? It was hard to tell through the mask.

"Hn" Sasuke grunts as if rolling his eyes. "Sasuke. Sasuke Uchiha" he states blankly, his hands finding the pockets of his shorts.

Ace looks back with a twitch in her eye. She really didn't like just how similar Sasuke was getting to her brother at his age. Even to the point of the attitude reflecting back. "God, you're a jerk" she sighs. Getting an unexpected snort from the old man in the corner.

"Hello Sasuke, my name is Ace, it's a pleasure to meet you" she smiles fakely, with a cheer to her voice that just didn't quite match. "That's how you introduce yourself, dickweed"

She was so not ready to go through her brother's emo phase again.

"You got my name, that's all you need, loser" Sasuke glares

"I also got the impression that you're a bitch"

Sasuke turned his nose up with a glare "hn"

"Okay kids, no need to fight." Kakashi speaks from the doorway that he was leaning on. Though the amusement in his tone didn't go unnoticed.

Ace shook her head in exasperation, rolling her eyes.

"Sasuke here is going to be helping you get settled once you're released" the Hokage fills in helpfully, "and Kakashi here will be helping to teach you all the basics until you've regained your memory"

Ace smiled thankfully towards Kakashi, giving a small bow of appreciation "Thank you both for being so kind to me"

It was honestly jarring just how nice everyone, minus Sasuke, had been.  All of Chance's rants must have really had an influence on her opinions of this show.

"So you don't remember anything?" Sasuke questions skeptically

Ace pauses, thinking carefully, it made sense that they had come to that conclusion, after all she was sure the questions they'd asked her earlier were probably basic common knowledge.
