Snowflakes were falling, covering the streets and sidewalks, making it look like a big white blanket has been laid over the entire town of Dallas Heights. Inside a particular classroom of Quinz Academy, a girl with curly brown hair and clear blue eyes was looking outside a window admiring the beautiful sight.

She was lost deep in her thoughts when her teacher called her to get her attention.

"Ms.Lucy Dire!" Mr. Hunt, her teacher at the time raises his voice, finally snapping her out of her thoughts and gaining her attention.

"Yes, Mr. Hunt?," she asks

"Ms. Lucy, I never thought that you of all people will daydream during classes," Mr. Hunt says as he folds his arms.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to daydream. I just got so engrossed in my own thoughts."

Mr. Hunt examines her face with a cold, hard expression.

"Being top of the class, doesn't mean that you could just take your studies for granted, Ms. Lucy."

The girl nervously bit her lower lip, nodding.

"Normally, I won't go easy on students who don't pay attention in my classes..." He paused eyeing her. She was already keeping her fingers crossed that she won't get any punishment or worse-detention. "...But since, this is the first time you've actually done something like this, I'll forget it ever happened," He added.

"Thank you Mr. Hunt," She said feeling relieved.

"Just don't do it again, Ms. Lucy," Mr. Hunt says with an authoritative tone, Lucy nodded in response. "Alright then, let's get back to the topic at hand."

A few minutes later, the bell rang signalling the students that it was lunch time. Lucy quietly takes her books and was about to go to her locker when someone called her, she turned to look only to find her best friend, Diana Ashburn walking towards her.

"Hey Diana," Lucy greets.

"What's with you this morning?" Diana asked, Lucy shrugged as they walked to their lockers.

"I just got a lot on my mind," Lucy answered looking around the hallways.

Diana nodded then she suddenly groaned, "Oh no."

Lucy turned to look at what had caught her friend's eye. She then saw the handsome Seth Rivers and his group blocking their lockers. Seth was a handsome, tall, muscular jock with beautiful blonde hair and emerald green eyes, he has constantly tried to ask Lucy out but got rejected every time. It's not that he wasn't attractive enough, it was because Lucy doesn't want to experience another heartbreak.

The big heartbreak had happened at Junior High with the school's heartthrob, Paul West. Lucy have had a crush on him for as long as she could remember and when he asked her out, she accepted thinking it was a dream come true. But after a few days of going out, Lucy found Paul cheating on her. She confronted him, and what came next really crushed her heart to a million pieces, he told her that she was just a plaything to him and that he had never taken an interest to her. After that Lucy vowed that she would never fall in love ever again.

Seth noticed their presence as he began walking towards them.

"Wonderful to see you today Lucy," Seth smirks.

"Hello Seth," Lucy quietly greeted back.

Seth glanced over at Diana "I can still see that you're hanging out with little Miss Hothead," Seth remarked causing his friends to laugh. Diana scoffed.

"Now what does that have to do with anything? It's not like you're any better, Egghead," Diana retorted folding her arms.

Seth's friends laughed at her reply. Seth rolled his eyes and glared at his friends to stop.

"Anyways Lucy, me and the guys are going to have a pool party this weekend and I was wondering if you'd like to go, you know, as my date," Seth asks looking hopefully at Lucy.

Lucy bites her lower lip, thinking of a good reason to reject this guy. "I'm sorry but I can't go," She ended up saying.

Seth cocked up an eyebrow "Lucy this is the sixth time I asked you out, do you have a problem with me?

"I...just have homework....and....a Che-Chemistry project I got to work on," She stuttered.

"Yeah right, you know if you don't want to go out with me you can just say so," Seth replies feeling dejected.

"Seth it isn't like that, I'll promise that I'll accept the next time you ask."

"That's what you say every time, Lucy!" He raises his voice, looking at her, "...but you know what? You don't have to worry about it anymore. Come on guys," Seth walked off, with his group of jocks tailing behind him.

Lucy sighed as she faced her locker and opened it, putting her books in. Diana looked over at her best friend.

"Well that turned out great. I never saw the jerk that upset before, you sure showed him," Diana says smiling triumphantly. Lucy looks over at Diana.

"I feel terrible."

"Then why did you rejected?"

"Diana, you know me. I don't want the same thing happening all over again," Lucy says nostalgically.

Diana placed a hand on her best friend's shoulder.

"Lucy you have to get over him," Lucy looks up at her friend.

"I'll try."
