Red heart shaped balloons were floating around what was once the Quinz Academy gym. Romantic music filled the air, guys were dressed in their tuxedos while girls were dressed in their evening gowns. It was the Sweet Hearts Dance, the dance that was held every year on Valentine's Day.

Suddenly the whole student body seemed to quiet down when a certain Chris Williams entered the room. Dressed dashingly in a black tux and a red bowtie, Chris had combed back his hair and looked even more handsome then ever. But what came as a surprise to everyone was that he was alone.

Chris ignored all the stares he was getting and walked confidently to his group of friends and they all greeted him with a bro handshake.

"Dude, where's your date?" Ian, a guy from the basketball team asked.

"She couldn't make it," Chris replied with a smirk.

"Wait your date ditched you?" Josh, a guy from the soccer team asked.

Chris shrugged, "She didn't exactly said yes when I asked her out."

Ian laughed, "But weren't there other girls who asked you out?" Ryan, a football player asked.

"Yeah but they all seemed too desperate and you guys know that desperation is not my thing."

"Right, they should call you 'Picky Chrissy'," Drew, another basketball player said, joining the conversation. The other guys laughed.

"Haha really funny guys," Chris rolled his eyes.

"Hey Chris check out who's coming your way."

"Who?"

"Hey Chris!" Lucy Evans greeted as if to answer his question.

"Umm...hi."

"So I saw that you didn't have a Valentine."

"What made you think that?" Chris asked raising an eyebrow, Lucy Evans giggled.

"Well, you came in alone...and so I was wondering if you'd liked to be my Valentine?" This caused a series of oooohs from the guys, and everyone had stopped what they were doing to looked at what's going on.

"Oh wow, this is awkward...look, Lucy...Evans. You're cute and all but I only have eyes for one girl, and you're just not her," Chris answered.

"What?! Who?" She cried in surprise.

"I think you know who," Chris replied.

"What?! That freak?!"

"Lucy Dire's not a freak," Chris retorted, Lucy Evans looked at him with disbelief.

"You don't know what you're doing...you don't know who you just mess with."

"I think I do. You're Lucy Evans, head cheerleader and captain of the so called 'Sirens' , you're probably the most popular girl in school and got a thousand of guys chasing after you. You most likely have everything going your way and everything you want in the palm of your hand but I resist and I'll keep on resisting you..." Chris trailed off, Lucy Evans was starting to get furious.

"...I refuse to play by your rules, Lucy Evans."

"You're going to regret this, Chris. Like you said, I've got everything in the palm of my hand. I can make your life a living hell."

"I'd love to see you try," Chris replied with a smirk. Lucy Evans stomped away angrily.

Chris rolled his eyes and turned back towards his friends.

"Dude, that was intense," Ryan said.

"Good job though, I've never seen her so mad before," Ian said high-fiving him.
