Today River was going to the Jacksons' home for dinner. It's been a few years since she's eaten with them. It would be a trip down memory lane. Katherine was in the kitchen preparing dinner. Janet was helping set the table.
"Mike come on man," Randy said as he and Michael were walking towards the dining room.
"I said no Randy," Michael said sternly.
"I think you're overreacting Michael."
"What are you two arguing about?" Janet asked her older brothers.
"Randy wants me to give him my blessing to ask River out," Michael told her.
"I'm asking I didn't just go on and do it," Randy said. "You two have been broken up for a while now. Also, you're dating Nova so what's the issue?"
"The issue is that you want to date her."
"Who doesn't?" Randy shrugged his shoulders. "She's smart, sweet, talented, successful, and hot." This response caused Michael to roll his eyes.
"Randy you think that River would want to date you?" Janet asked with her eyebrow raised.
"I mean why not? I'm good with the ladies." Randy smirked and Janet burst into laughter.
"Since when?" She tried to control her laughter. "I don't see anyone lined up outside. I'm pretty sure that River wouldn't have any interest in dating you."
"Why not?"
"Because you're you which is annoying. And she would most likely get back with Michael. We put money on it actually."
"Wait a second." Michael put his hand up. "What do you mean you put money on it?"
"Yeah of course? Everyone is in on it. We bet on how long it would take."
"You know what I'm done with this conversation," Michael said walking away from his two younger siblings. He made his way to the front door as a black Cadillac Escalade pulled up. River stepped out of the driver's seat.
"Hey, Michael" River greeted.
"Hey Riv" Michael made his way over to her.
"Am I too early?"
"No you're good." He chuckled. "Do you need help with anything?"
