Third Pov

"Did you really think it was a good idea? I mean, you owe her. You could owe her anything. What if you owed her your life, Thane?" Elijah voiced out.

As prideful as he may be, he was by far the most caring-well, 40 out of 100.

"Yes, brother," Asher said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "You've absolutely gone mad. All for a human! I mean, I get the mate bond thing, but this is next-level desperation. You might as well have put on a clown suit, painted 'Sold my soul' on your forehead, and started juggling."

"We are a part of the devil, you deep shit," Malakai quipped, rolling his eyes.

"I understand your concern, but... it's my decision to face the outcome, okay? I... I don't exactly know what's happening to me, honestly," Thane admitted, his tone heavy with confusion.

"You're in love, you asshat," Gideon deadpanned. "Congrats, Romeo. Next, you'll be writing her poetry and serenading her under the moonlight. Can I sell tickets to that?"

"Ew, we don't do love," Kurgan said, waving a hand dismissively. "Love is for mortals, idiots, and soap opera stars."

"Not to mention, it's also a leading cause of stupidity," Asher added with a smirk.

Muzan frowned upon their words but kept quiet. It was better for his brothers to pester Thane on this matter rather than him.

"Huh, let's just get back to the palace, okay? I'm not seeing Lucy now; I'm just going to bed," Thane sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as if dealing with toddlers instead of brothers.

"Sure, but be careful," Asher teased. "I heard some of the servants whispering about your mate. Something about a fan club forming and threats to shave your head if you screw this up. Oh, and keep Gage safe. You know how imps love to gossip and backstab-literally."

"I will," Thane said, looking down at the little snow-white beauty in his arms.

"Let's rest, love," he whispered before teleporting to his room in the palace.

---

Love.
The word sounded incredulous and foreign to Thane.

Love?
"I don't do love," he muttered aloud, almost as though trying to convince himself.

His gaze shifted to Gage, who lay comfortably on his chest, breathing softly in his sleep. The peaceful expression on Gage's face tugged at something deep within Thane-a flicker of amusement lighting up his usually stoic eyes.

Gage stirred, his lashes fluttering as if sensing someone's watchful eyes.

"Mm... Thany?" he murmured, his voice sweet and angelic, like a child roused from a dream. His soft, plump lips formed the faintest of pouts, making him look even more irresistible.

He didn't seem to mind being sprawled across Thane's body.

Then, an unexpected thought struck Thane.

I haven't kissed this human yet. Or had sex with him...

The realization made his mind whirl. What was this man doing to me?

"What's wrong, Thany? You seem upset. Are you okay?" Gage's voice was tinged with concern as he reached up, his small, gentle hands caressing Thane's face with a tenderness that felt almost unreal.

Thane stared at him, his lips quirking into a slight smile. "I was just thinking... I haven't touched you intimately. Not once."

His voice dropped into a husky whisper as he leaned closer, brushing his lips against Gage's ear, pleased to see the goosebumps spreading across his skin.

"Oh..." was all Gage managed, his cheeks flushing a delicate pink.

"Do you want to?" he asked hesitantly, his eyes wide with worry.

Thane's expression softened. "It's okay, baby. I'd never do anything to make you uncomfortable, alright?"

"O-okay," Gage stammered, his breath hitching when Thane suddenly shifted, hovering over him.

With a quick, fluid motion, Thane straddled Gage's waist and pinned his wrists above his head with a single hand. His strength was undeniable, but his touch remained gentle.

"Let's get started, then," Thane murmured, his voice like velvet as he licked his lips in anticipation.
