(Y/n POV)
I headed out of the door, ruffling down my bag to find my keys.
"Found it!" I muttered to myself. Whistling as I was skipping, I unlocked the car door and entered the car.
"Are you all ready and set my babies?" I asked, turning around making sure that their seatbelt was tight and put on properly.
"Yes!" They both screamed. Me and the kids were headed towards the airport, on our way to pick Thiago up. He and his team were playing Barcelona FC and unfortunately we couldn't make it due to the kids going to school. We insisted on having a week's holiday but the stupid school wouldn't let us. Well, we were here now and that's what matters.
................................................................
I wonder what was taking so long! Impatiently walking down the terminal back and forth, my mind was constantly thinking of Thiago. What had happened to him? Not only him but what about his team. You know what I am just going to ask the woman by the reception.
"Excuse me, can you tell me what's happened to Flight 254?"
"I'm sorry ma'am. We are currently trying to reach the pilots but there seems to be no signal. We will update you if we receive any other news about them. Ok?"
"Ok." I sighed. Typical receptionist. It's as if they are trained to talk and say things like this. But you can't really blame them to be honest. It was their job after all! Well this situation is going to be difficult telling the kids. They were so young but didn't yet understand things like this happening in life. Dragging myself towards the seats, I sat down with a huge HUMPH thinking about what excuse I was going to tell the kids tomorrow. Once again, I sighed, continuously looking at my kids who were fast asleep. Stroking Mia, our youngest child, she slighted shifted at the sense of my touch.
"Are you okay baby?" I whispered into her ear. She eventually opened her eyes by an inch.
"Mummy, I am scared. When's daddy going to come back?" I stuttered, not knowing what to say. I didn't know what to say because I didn't know much about it apart from what the receptionist told me.
"Erm... Daddy is going to be here soon. Just go back sleep baby and I will tell you when daddy is here ok?" I kissed her forehead.
(Next morning)
Fluttering my eyelids and rubbing my eyes, I woke up to hear that the flight that Thiago and his team were on had finally returned. "Flight 254 is due to return in 2 minutes. If relatives could prepare themselves for the passengers arriving back here.Thank you."I tapped the kids lightly on the arm.
"Kids... kids wake up I think daddy's here." They immediately stood up, jumping up and down screaming 'I want daddy'.
"Kids, be quiet before everybody notices." Many by passers were giving me dirty looks as if to tell my kids to shut up. I stared back with the same intensity look in my eyes as if to tell them fuck off.
Carrying Mia in one hand whilst holding Kyle in the other, we were heading towards the waiting area. We all seemed very excited and could not wait for Thiago to get home. He must be very tired bless him. Once we reached there, we held a huge sign with the words "We love you Thiago ❤️" to make sure we had caught his attention. We sure did! There he was, with his blue backpack, wearing a grey hoodie with black chinos and a pair of black and white air maxes. As soon as he identified us, he ran towards us and embraced us all in his arms.
"Hey, hey baby are you ok? What happened to the plane?" I asked after giving him a long passionate kiss. He sighed.
"There were a few technical problems with the plane so we had to stay behind for about 8 hours and wait until the plane was finally working."
" Phew! I was worrying about you so much last night. I also had an argument with the lady receptionist because of this!" He wrapped his arms around my waist while stroking my cheeks.
"I love you." He moved towards me until there was no space between us left.
"Baby not in front of the kids ok?" I whispered realising that the kids were looking back making disgusting facial expressions.
"I'm sorry kids for disgusting you like that. It's just that I miss your mother a lot as well as you lot. As annoying as you can be, I still love you ok?"
"Ok, how was the match?" I pecked him on the lips.
"Even though we lost, I still think that we played brilliantly." He leant down to talk to the kids.
"Hey Mia and Kyle how's my two little angels doing?" He high-fived Mia and fist pumped Kyle.
"I'm not an angel dad, I'm a boss!" He lifted his jacket as he raised his left eyebrow. We all laughed.
"Ok my man." He lifted both his hands up to surrender.
"Let's get outta here guys. I'll drive." I shouted. Once we went home, we were exhausted. I gave the kids showers, me and Thiago also had a shower then we all went straight to sleep.
