Pippin was outside panting heavily, enjoying the evening breeze. He sat down in the long grass for a few minutes, while he caught his breath. The wind blew gently through his thick, brown hair, and made the grass whistle. Pippin looked down at the blue water that ran past him, thinking about clenching his thirst, but thought otherwise when he remembered what it really was. He sighed loudly, before falling back and staring up into the darkening sky.

Then, Pippin stood up so quickly, he might have fallen over again. Mallyra. Where was she? He walked up to the hole, and shouted in cautiously, craning his neck.

"Ra? Ra are you okay? Ra?!" Pippin began to panic on the spot. He paced up and down for a few seconds, talking quietly to himself, and then decided to go back in. But before he did, Pippin shouted into the cave again,

"Ra? I’m coming to find you, Ra don’t worry," he took one bold step, and felt a hand on his shoulder. He spun round as quickly as possible, his heart pounding loud. But his fear was to be met with a familiar face. Mallyra was stood, with her hands on her hips, smirking at him.

"you miss me?" she laughed as his shocked face. Pippin stared at her, his cheeks turning red. He quickly snapped back into reality, and hit her playfully in the arm.

"I got kinda worried! Don’t blame me," He chuckled, still attempting to hide the embarrassment  that remained on his cheeks, " what happened anyway? how did you get out?’ he murmured. The sky was now darker than it had been, and the faded sparks of stars were beginning to rip through the blanket of clouds above when they began to walk.

"Well I couldn’t see where I was going for the majority of the time, so I ended up missing the ladder. but I found out that the other tunnel surfaces," Mallyra looked around a little, "just behind that big rock over there," she gestures to a huge lump of rock that protruded out of the hill side.

Pippin nodded, smiling widely. "I'm just glad you’re okay, didn’t want you getting eaten," pippin joked, resulting in a confused glance from Mallyra.

"You really were worried weren't you?" she asked, sounding a little concerned. Pippin shrugged, and tried to change the subject by asking about what happened with the creature. Mallyra gave him a pitiful look once she realised she’d given him quite a fright, and suddenly thought of an idea to help them both calm down after today’s adventure.

"fancy going for a drink?’ she smiled across at Pippin. His reaction, made her smile even more.

"I know the perfect place!" he cheered, "The Green Dragon in Bywater, me and Merry go there all the time!" Mallyra smiled at first, and then her face fell a little.

"Is Merry your lass?" she asked quietly, looking up at him. Pippin was quiet for a moment, and then burst into fits of laughter. She stared at him in disbelief, not knowing what he was finding quite so funny.

"What?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.

Once he'd calmed down a little, Pippin explained, "Merry's my best friend.. 'HE' also happens to be my cousin," he looked at her confused face once more, and couldn't help but laugh again. Mallyra hit her hand to her forehead, and then began to laugh.

"Why did you want to know anyway?  he continued, frowning slightly. Mallyra looked down at the floor, and began to blush.

"No reason," she said quickly, then beginning to walk faster too. Pippin frowned at her again, and then shrugged his shoulders, before trotting after her.

When they reached Hobbiton, the full moon was just above the valley, the sky starting to swirl into a black and dark blue mix. The odd cloud was seen gliding across the sky, and the tree's glowed in the pooling moonlight. They were soon out of Hobbiton, and back onto a gravel path. A moments silence passed as they walked, only the sound of their footsteps could be heard.
