"Such a lively conversation," a serene voice murmured from behind Chuuya, startling him so much he nearly spilled his glass.
"Oh my God, Kouyou! You can't just sneak up on people like that—you're going to give someone a heart attack one day!" Chuuya exclaimed, clutching his chest dramatically.
Kouyou arched a delicate brow, her ruby lips curling into an amused smile. "Perhaps, but as an executive, shouldn't you be more vigilant of your surroundings?" she said smoothly, gracefully taking the seat next to him. "Do continue your fascinating exchange, though. I'll simply have a drink."
Chuuya sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I wasn't planning to answer anyway. He tends to get a bit... invasive."
"Oh? He? And who might this new intriguing friend of yours be?" Kouyou inquired, her voice calm yet probing as she sipped on her whiskey with perfect poise. "I don't recall you mentioning anyone like that before."
Chuuya hesitated, swirling his empty glass in thought. New? We've been talking for two years—he's hardly new. "He's not really new," he admitted. "We've been friends for a while now. We met through the Port Mafia's social media circles. Turns out we have a lot in common."
Kouyou tilted her head slightly, her eyes glinting with curiosity. "Such as?"
"Well... we're the same age, we're both in the mafia, and... we both like to play Wordle," Chuuya muttered, scratching the back of his neck.
A soft chuckle escaped Kouyou's lips. "How riveting. Are you quite certain this isn't Dazai playing one of his elaborate pranks on you?"
"Dazai?" Chuuya blinked, then frowned. "Maybe, but... I don't think so. This person's shared personal stuff. Like, real things. I doubt that damn mackerel would joke about that," he said, his tone turning thoughtful.
Kouyou's smile turned faintly indulgent. "One can never be too careful, my dear. I suggest you remain cautious—you've always had a trusting heart, perhaps too trusting. And I hope you aren't foolish enough to share any sensitive information about the Port Mafia."
"Of course not! We don't even talk about the Port Mafia," Chuuya said quickly, almost offended by the suggestion.
"Good. Now, one more thing," Kouyou said, her tone turning sly as she leaned slightly closer. "Make sure to use a condom."
