I could finally see some of the light re-enter Kendall's eyes as I carry her down the stairs. Secretly, I hope she can't hear how fast my heart was beating. She smelled amazing, like a vanilla candle. Her bruises didn't effect her naturally beautiful face, and her warm hazel eyes shown bright in the dim light of her basement. This girl was incredible.
I set her down on her couch, and set about looking for her favorite movie. She watched me move around her basement, I was clueless to where any of the movies were at.
" The movies are in the cabinet under the T.V stand," her voice came out as a whisper making me stop in my tracks.
" You okay Ken?" I move over and sit next to her, she smiles faintly. I frown, confused with the sudden mood shift. " Kendall?"
" Huh? Oh yeah, I'm perfect! I was just thinking." she lifts one of her delicate hands to brush the hair behind her ear, her cheeks turn a rosy red. Unsure of what to say, I lean over and kiss her on the cheek.
" Under the cabinet right?" I point in the direction of the T.V stand, she nods and leans back into the couch. I get to my feet, walking quietly over to the entertainment stand. I bend down ignoring the loud pops in my knees. I had always had bad knees, I didn't think much of it.
I sift through the movies, picking out some I think Kendall would like to watch. In the end I went with. "The Note Book", " Safe Haven", and " The Proposal " then I closed the cabinet door and walked back to the couch, laying the movies out for Kendall to pick. She looks over them with a serious gaze. Finally picking The proposal.
I smile inwardly, secretly I don't mind romance movies. As long as there is something else involved, like action movies and romance movies mixed. Or comedy with a twist of romance. So Kendall's pick of the proposal was perfect, and I couldn't wait to share the laughs with her.
" Good choice, " I wink at her making her face lite up, she smiles showing a perfect set of teeth. Gleaming when she smiled, it was as if she was glowing.
My heart skipped a few beats, unconsciously I reach up and brush my thumb along her jawline. Her hand covers mine, it's warm and soft. She holds my hand to her face as if enjoying my touch.
I lean in slowly, testing to see if she would meet me half way. To my delight she brings both her hands to my face, pulling me all the way to her face so that my lips met hers.
Her lips...
They were soft and warm, they tasted of warm honey. My lips molded perfectly with hers. Like we were a perfect match. I scoot forward to a less awkward angle, bringing my hand to her hair gently pushing it out of the way. I feel her breath hitch, and what seems like way too soon she pulls away. Looking at me with beautiful brown eyes. She smiles faintly, and tucks a few stray strands of hair behind her ear.
" Are you going to put the movie in?" Her voice flows over me like a warm summer breeze, making me shiver.
I couldn't help but smile at her smart attitude, " Of course your majesty," my mischievous smile makes her wrinkle her nose.
"That's the most horrible nick name ever," Kendall sneers, she smirks. "If anyone acts like royalty here, it's you."
"What?! Um, no you have it all wrong princess," I slip the movie in, skipping to the main menu. I press play and turn around to go back to the couch.
Kendall stares at me, her arms folded across her body, "You did not just call me princess."
I snort, trying to hold back my laughter. "Oh, but I did" I plop down on the couch next to her, hesitant to get within punching range.
"You're going to regret that" Kendall leans into me, dragging her half paralyzed body across the couch to be next to me. A warm feeling spreads through my chest. I had waited for what seemed like forever to feel like this with her, finally I was where I really wanted to be.
"Oh, I bet I will... Princess" immediately I regret my words, as Kendall back hands me in my stomach. I gasp, trying to catch the air that is rushing out of my lungs way too fast. " Hey!"
" You deserved it, now be quiet the movie is started." Kendall looks up at me with her flawless smile. I shake my head and chuckle, she had me wrapped around her finger bad.
