" If she hasn't texted back this long, there has to be something wrong dude!"

Liam is silent on the other side of the phone call for only a moment. " bro, your right. What did you do? You've messed up already!!"

My hand slaps my face, what if I had messed up already? " Liam, what am I going to do?"

" This one is--"

My phone beeps interrupting his words, I look at the caller ID disappointed when I saw the name Kamron on it.

" Hey, Kamron is calling me. I call you back later k?"

" Alright bro Austa"

" Okay bye."

I hang up on him, and answer Kamron's incoming call. " hey, what's up?"

" Lincoln! Thank god you answered!" Kamron sounds worried, and tired. " did you hear?"

" Umm, no what happened?" I put my car into drive, and exit my drive way. It was 5:50 and almost time to pick up Kendall

" When Kendall and Ryan left school today, they got into a big car accident!" The sound of a car door opens, and slams shut over the phone.  My heart rate sky rockets, this was horrible.

" Are they okay?" I ask pressing on my gas to go towards the hospital. When Kamron doesn't answer I freak out " Kamron, are they okay?" I'm yelling now, it can't be.

" Ryan has three broken ribs, and other minor things." Kamron pauses, making me want to cry " Kendall was driving, and the semi hit her head on"

" No!"  Kamron is dead silent for what feels like an eternity, tears well up in my eyes, this wasn't suppose to happen to anyone this young. it was unfair.

" Linc, she's alive."

I sigh, gulping hard. The hospital was only ten minute away, but it felt like forever.

" But, she's bleeding internally and she's unresponsive at that moment."

I almost swerve into the car next to me, unresponsive? I should have given her a ride home today, this is horrible.

" I'm going to the hospital, see you there?" Kamron honks and yells at someone.

" Ya" I click the end button and press down on my gas pedal.

...

" I'm here for ah Kendall mirrers" I tap the counter anxiously, looking at the lady as she slowly looks through the files to find Kendall's name.

" And your relationship with the patient sir?" Her voice is nasally, and really annoying

" Um.. Boyfriend" I instantly feel guilty, I'm not her boyfriend yet.

" OK, straight through there, her family are in the waiting room. If the security guards question you, tell them I let you through." I nod, thanking her quietly, then i push through the swinging doors. Her mother sits in the far corner of  the room a wad of tissue fitted into a tight ball. Makeup ran down her face, despite the constant wiping of her husbands hand. Her dad's face was ghostly pale, and he was shaking. Quietly I walk over to sit next to him.

" Whats happening?" my voice shook showing my unwanted fear.

Her dad swallowed, blinking away a few tears. He looks me in the eyes, his lips tremble slightly as he spoke, " They aren't sure if she is going to live, but they are giving it everything they have"

Suddenly I couldn't hear his next words, it's like the whole world went silent. I could see his face crease in concern. He spoke, but nothing ever reached my ears. I pulled myself up, scrambling for the nearest exit. The elevator would take too long, so i ran down the stairs and bolted outside. I needed fresh air or else I was going to pass out. I don't remember how, but when I finally had calmed down i noticed I was next to a little pond that the hospital had right next to it. My hand rested against a tree, slowly I stood upright. My face was beaded with sweat, and my hands shook. but I felt a lot better than a few minutes ago.

Kendall had her whole life ahead of her, how could one thing rip it away. why couldn't have it been someone else in that car accident? I shake my head, taking back that selfish thought. No one deserves that, I just wished it didn't have to be her.

Before I could go back into the hospital, I had to mentally prepare myself for the worst. I hope the worst wouldn't happen, I'm not ready to let her get away.
