After dinner, I walked slowly toward my room, each step feeling heavier than the last. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, emotions I couldn't quite place or understand. But just as my hand reached the doorframe, I stopped. Something tugged at me-an invisible thread, pulling me back toward him.

I turned around, and there he was, standing near the dining table, his hands resting lightly in his pockets. His eyes met mine instantly, as though he'd been waiting for me to look back. The air between us grew still, and for a long moment, it felt as if the entire world had fallen silent.

My lips parted, and before I could stop myself, the words slipped out.

"I am staying."

He didn't say anything at first. Instead, his face softened, and then it happened-a small smile spread across his lips, deepening the dimples I hadn't seen in days. My breath hitched. That smile. It wasn't the kind you could ignore; it was the kind that reached his eyes, making them glimmer with something unspoken.

I felt my own lips curve into a soft smile in return, almost involuntarily. It was such a small exchange, yet it carried a weight I couldn't explain. Something unspoken passed between us in that moment, something fragile and beautiful.

But then reality crept back in, casting its cold shadow over the warmth of the moment. Whatever this was-this spark, this undeniable pull between us-it wasn't meant to be. The world would never accept it, would never understand the fire quietly burning between us.

Forbidden.

The word echoed in my mind, a reminder of the boundaries we could never cross, no matter how much I wanted to.

I turned away, my heart heavy yet strangely light, and walked into my room, closing the door softly behind me. As I leaned against it, I touched my chest, feeling the rapid thud of my heart beneath my fingertips.

Whatever this was between us, it was dangerous. But for the first time, I didn't feel like running away from it. Instead, I let the warmth of his smile linger in my mind, comforting me like a secret I wasn't ready to share with the world.

As I sat on the edge of my bed, my mind became a whirlwind of thoughts, replaying every moment from earlier. His voice, deep and commanding, still echoed in my ears. The way he carried himself with an air of dominance and control, the intimidating sharpness in his gaze that made my breath hitch every time our eyes met-it all consumed me.

I pressed my palms against my thighs, trying to steady myself, but my fingers trembled. The memories of his touch, his presence, and even the way he effortlessly held my waist to lift me onto the counter-it was maddening. My breathing grew uneven as I closed my eyes, the weight of his intensity washing over me like a tidal wave.

A strange heat spread through my body, my skin tingling as if his warmth still lingered there. My legs were shaking slightly, and I glanced down at my feet, unable to control the restless energy coursing through me.

Why did he affect me like this? Why did his mere presence leave me unraveling, yearning for something I didn't dare name?

I leaned forward, my head resting in my hands, my fingers gripping my hair lightly as if to ground myself. But the thoughts didn't stop. His voice, low and husky, replayed in my mind, especially when he said, "I wish you'd stay forever."

The sincerity in his tone, the softness in his eyes-it all burned into my memory. My chest tightened as I fought to calm the storm within me, but it was no use.

I bit my lip, frustrated with myself for feeling this way. Yet, there was no denying it. He had a power over me I couldn't escape, and the realization sent a shiver down my spine.
