Time skip,
He brought us by a Lake beside the museum.
As we stood by the lake, the fading sunlight bathed the scene in a warm, golden hue, the kind of sunset that seemed to stretch forever.
The soft rustling of leaves in the breeze mixed with the quiet ripple of the water, creating a serene atmosphere. My mother walked ahead, admiring the view, but I couldn’t help but feel the weight of the silence between Namjoon and me.
It wasn’t just the beauty of the landscape or the way the sun painted everything in soft shades of orange and pink. No, it was something else entirely—a quiet understanding between Namjoon and me that was impossible to ignore.
I could feel it in the way he stood so close to me, in the way he occasionally glanced at me, his eyes lingering a little longer than necessary. It was subtle, but there was tension in the air, something unspoken but undeniable.
I noticed how my mother kept her distance, her gaze flickering between us, her face unreadable. She might not have been able to pinpoint exactly what was going on, but she could feel it.
I could see it in the way she furrowed her brows, the way she watched us, her concern veiled behind a thin layer of politeness. She was definitely suspicious. I couldn’t blame her; if I were in her shoes, I’d be wondering the same thing.
Namjoon seemed oblivious to her suspicions, or perhaps he didn’t care. His attention was focused entirely on me, his presence as solid and commanding as the lake before us.
I could feel the heat of his gaze, even from the corner of my eye, and it made my heart race a little faster. His quiet confidence seemed to fill the space between us, and for a moment, it was as if the rest of the world didn’t matter.
Not the lake, not my mother, not even the golden sky above us.
“You look breathtakingly beautiful whole day” Namjoon said, his voice low, almost like a whisper that only I could hear.
I froze for a moment, unsure of how to respond. The compliment, though simple, felt like it carried a weight I wasn’t ready for. I glanced at my mother, but she was still lost in the view, unaware of the tension brewing just a few feet away from her.
“Thank you,” I said softly, my voice betraying none of the emotions swirling inside me. I felt it in my core, a feeling—
It was as if being near him, like this, in this quiet moment, made everything feel different—too intense, too real.
And yet, I couldn’t pull away. Not when he was looking at me like that.
My heart fluttered in my chest, a mixture of excitement and fear. There was something undeniable between us, something I couldn’t explain but couldn’t deny either. It was electric, that connection.
It wasn’t just the way he spoke to me or the way he looked at me—it was everything in between. A spark that had ignited quietly, without warning, and now burned brighter than I was prepared for.
“I think the sunset looks better with you here,” he said, his gaze lingering on my face now, not the lake or the sky.
I felt a small pang of something unfamiliar—something tender, and yet, full of tension. How could he make something as simple as the sunset feel so charged with emotion? How could I feel so drawn to him, even when I knew I shouldn’t?
I didn’t know what was happening, but in that moment, I didn’t care. The world around me faded, leaving just the two of us standing by the lake, bathed in the golden light, as my heart skipped a beat under his watchful gaze.
