"Grant?" Charlotte says knocking on his door. "I'm coming in." Charlotte opens the door and sees Grant lying in bed. "Grant, I need to talk to you. I want you to go to therapy. Jake went and he said it works. One session is all I'm asking for, tomorrow, at twelve?" Charlotte asks. Grant sits up and bed and look at her. "There's my beautiful boy." Charlotte says rubbing his hair back and looking at him. "I'll try." Grant whispers. Charlotte hugs him and kisses him. "Thanks, I'll go play with Henry now. Bye." Charlotte says then she closes his door.

"Hi Grant, I'm Brandi and I'll be your therapist." The man says. He's five nine and has blonde hair and it's naturally curly. He looks pretty young and wears glasses that make him seem smart. "Hi." Grant whispers. "Are you nervous?" He asks. Grant nods yes while staring past him and out the window. "So am I. You're not my first patient, it's just nerve wracking each time. To make sure I notice stuff before it happens or takes a toll on you." Brandi says. "So, your mom told a bit of what's happening. You feeling tired, having these angry outbursts and feeling mad easily. Having mood swings or lying in bed/sleeping a bunch and still look sleepy or you're not sleeping enough. Not eating at all or eating a bunch, having a lot of energy and just going downhill. Is that correct?" The therapist asks and Grant nods yes.
"Grant, do you know what depression is?" Brandi asks. "A bit, a friend has it." Grant says. "Well, I'll tell you just in case. It's a mental health condition that involves a prolonged feeling of being sad or having a loss of interest in activities. Some of these symptoms match yours, Grant." Grant quickly looks at the man in his eyes and sits up with a worried look in his face. "What are the symptoms?" Grant asks. "Persistent sadness, anxiety, or feeling 'empty'. Loss of interest in activities. Changes in appetite or weight. Changes in sleep patterns. Slowed physical activity, speech, and thinking. Feeling worthless or guilty. Difficultly having concentration. Self harm and thoughts of death and suicide. Do you feel or think like that sometimes, Grant?" Brandi asks.
By now Grant's crying. Thinking of what his mom and dad and Henry and his friends have all been looking at and pretending to love. "Yeah." Grant whispers, wiping his tear with his hoodie sleeve. "Sometimes?" "All the time." Grant whispers again and starts to look out the window. "Grant, thanks. You can leave now." Brandi says. "I thought it was an hour?" Grant says trying to laugh and force a funny conversation. "I've got all I needed and plus, you need rest." Brandi says starts walking Grant out. "Wait. Before I go, will you tell my mom or dad any of this?" Grant asks. "Not unless you ask me to." Brandi says and Grant leaves.
"Hey!" Charlotte says with a half-chuckle and hugs him. "How was it? Did you like him?" James asks. Grant nodes yes. "Are you coming back?" James asks and Grant nods yes again. "YES!" Charlotte yells happily embracing her son into a tight hug. "Mom, can we go now?" Henry asks tugging on her jacket. "Oh, yes! Let's head home." James says and the walk out. "Grant, what is this place?" Henry asks. "It's a...doctor's office." Grant says. Henry gasps then asks "Are you sick too?" "I don't know yet." Grant whispers to his brother who is holding his finger with his tiny hand.

"Hey, mom?" Lexy calls out while walking down the stairs. "What? I'm braiding Caroline's hair." Michelle yells. "I was wondering if I could go out." Lexy asks walking into the living room. "No, you've been out too many times this month." Michelle says. "Probably because all you care about is Caroline! Dad! Back me up here?!" Lexy begs looking at her father. "Nope!" Nathan says and keeps reading his book. "This is bullshit!" Lexy yells. "Hey! Watch it, Caroline's around!" Nathan yells covering his daughter's ears. "You always favor Caroline, it's not fair!" Lexy yells. "Awww, boo hoo! Life isn't fair Lexy, get over it!" Michelle gets up and yells back at her daughter. "Where's my attention and hair braiding, Michelle?!" Lexy yells. "For the last damn time, it's mom! I can obviously tell you need the attention you dress like a fucking prostitute!" Michelle yells and Nathan looks up. "What's a prostitute?" Caroline asks. "Fuck you, Caroline!" Lexy yells to her sister's face and walks out the house.
"Hey, what's the problem?" Junior says about to knock on Lexy's door, but she's already leaving the house. "Michelle is! She's so fucking evil!" Lexy yells. "Here, it's the pills I take for stress. I'm not supposed to give them away, but you need it right now." Junior says. Lexy looks at him hesitantly, but takes the pills, crushes them up, and snorts it. "You and Jake are some over medicated ass kids." Lexy says. "We can probably add Grant to it soon." Junior says with a chuckle. "So, Jake's at Devon's. My parents are in the country visiting my dad's parents, which means we have the house to ourselves. I got some more weed and pills?" Junior says. "What about some extra stuff?" Lexy asks unzipping her jacket as they walk and approach Junior's house. "Shit." Junior whispers. "What?" "I'm hard." He whispers again. Lexy giggles and they walk in the house for some weed, pills, and something...special.
