After grabbing his jacket, Jim stepped outside. It was freezing. He started walking at brisk pace, mulling things over.
Where was that woman? She should be back by now! He glanced at his watch, it was 9:30. Surely if she really loved Emily and was desperate to see her then she would have turned up by now.
Unless she took off and left the most amazing person in the world sobbing her heart out alone. If she had, he would personally hunt down this Bek and make her pay for all the pain she had caused.
But why would she do such a thing? How could anyone be so heartless?
Unless... Unless she was scared? Perhaps he had scared her off yesterday and that was the reason she hadn't showed! If that was the reason he could never live with the knowledge that he had ruined the one chance Emily had at happiness.
If only his love was enough! No matter how much he loved his wife, it was never going to fix the hurt she had suffered. As he came to this devastating conclusion, Jim realised that there was only one way to heal his beloved Emily, and that was to find Bek.
