-Jim's POV-

As he drove to pick up Liam, Jim thought franticly about what he was going to tell his son. Was he supposed to tell him that his mum had been betrayed by her own friends? For the thousandth time since he had met Emily, Jim cursed the people that had left her like this.

Jim parked and walked into the pre-school. Aiesha the lady who ran the pre-school walked over to him. Great. Just what he didn't need.

"Good Afternoon Jim."

"Hi."

"How's Emily?"

"Fine."

"Oh. Well if things at home get to much you know I would be happy to help..."

Jim gritted his teeth. He hated it when she tried this.

"Thanks, but I'll be fine."

"Oh, okay then."

Just then Liam ran over and gave his father a hug.

"Dad!"

"Jim attempted a smile."

"Hey, how was your day?"

"Good."

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yep."

As they walked to the gate Aiesha waved goodbye. Jim ignored her.
