-Jim's POV-

There was an uncomfortable silence in the car on the way home from the preschool, Jim still had no idea what he would tell his son. FInally Liam broke the silence.

"Dad?"

"Yes?"

"Can you tell me now? About what happened to Mum?"

Jim sighed, there was no point delaying it any longer. "Um... well, it happened when your mum was still at school, before even I knew her. She had just finished Year Nine and she had lots of friends, i can't remember all their names but i seem to remember there was some French guy she liked or something. Anyway at the end of the year the French guy and another of your mums friends moved a long way away. This made your mummy very sad. And then something happened to two more of her friends and she couldn't see them anymore. This made your mummy even more sad. Then later on when Mummy was in Year Ten her last two friends went away as well. Then your Mummy didn't have any friends and was very lonely and sad. When I met your mummy she was still very, very sad and even though i made her a bit more happy she is still very sad."

"Oh... poor mummy."

"Yes, poor mummy."

"Dad?"

"Yes?"

"Is Mummy broken?"

"Yes, she is broken on the inside."

"Can she be fixed?"

"I hope so."

"Can't the doctor fix her?"

"No, the doctor can't fix this type of break."

"Oh."
