"Yeah, if anything happens to you I'm suppose to take the backpack and poof to auntie Li-Li's." he whispered back to me. And yes he did say poof. He can literally, for a lack of a better word, transport himself from one place to another. Sounds freaky right? You have no idea. I found out about this little trick about a year ago. After putting Ray down for a nap I went down stairs to watch T.V. I was sitting on the couch when out of nowhere Ray was sitting on my lap saying he wasn't tired. Be glad you weren't there, I almost peed myself.

I had no idea why he could do that or how long he was doing that but I knew I couldn't tell my parents. They would have a flippen field day with the whole thing. But I did tell Laya, she's my mom's mom and she's the only adult I trust. Laya is the one person I can talk to about everything, she's more like my mom then my mom is, and she's the one person that Ray will stay with and not have a brake down.

I made this little plan when I overheard my parents plan to ship us off. I figured they wouldn't be kind enough to ship us off together so when that time came we would meet back up at Li-Li's, and we would disappear. Well no time like the present to see if it worked.

"I need you to poof to Li-Li's as soon as no one is looking O.K?" I whispered hoping he wouldn't ask questions, but no such luck today.

"But nothing's wrong with you." He said clearly confused.

"No, nothing is wrong with but you have to trust me O.K. and I will see you in a few weeks I promise."

"Pinky swear Ci-Ci?" he held up his pudgy little finger.

"I pinky swear Ray." I replied twining my pinky with his and touching his thumb to mine, fighting back tears the whole time. He was smart that was for sure, no doubt he would want to know what in the world this was all for later. Hopefully I would be there to tell him in a week or so.

"I don't want to go!" he said as little tears spilled down his cheeks and splashed onto his dinosaur pajamas.

"I know I don't want to go either, believe me, but I'll be back-" BANG! "I promised remember?" he nodded sadly.

Any minute now and they would probably beat down the door. I went to the closet and got Ray some clothes to wear and grabbed the backpack. As Ray was getting on the clothes, the door frame started to shake as someone hurled themselves against it.

"O.K. Ray-Ray, hide in the closet and as soon as everyone is down stairs poof, and I will see you very soon. I promise. I love you so much." I kissed the top of his head, but as I started to usher him into the closet the door imploded. I pushed him behind me in an attempt to shield him with my body.

"Ray poof, now." I said quietly. There was a small popping noise behind me and he was gone, backpack and all.

And there was my mom, staring at me like I was a bug she just squished. Even though I've known for months it still hurt to know that they hated me so much. And it made me angry to know they hated Richard, my sweet lovable baby brother.
