Chapter XII
I thanked everyone in the plane before exiting with Landon, who patiently stood in outside. One, square stone tablet hovered in the air right in front of him. It was enough to fit two people. Landon walked to me, and waved his arms around.
"Welcome to Waruteas!" he flaty states, his eyes so far away. "We will be using the stone tablet to go to my palace. It will take..approximately two minutes." he announced, as his servants backed away.
I took a step forward, as he let out his hand, which I took. Landon insisted to hold my bag, which I first declined, but finally agreed. He placed it down, and whispered something softly. Nothing happen. I was about to ask him what was going on, but then..but then..as quick as lightning, the stone tablet raced forward. I screamed in fright, as I lunged towards Landon, fear getting the better of me. He froze, and I felt his heart beat quicken, but he puts his arms on my shoulders and held me tightly.
"Don't worry it's completely safe!" Landon yelled, trying to talk without the wind getting into his face. The atmosphere was cold, and my dress flew in the wind. I pushed it down hurriedly, hoping that it wouldn't tear. I couldn't' see anything. Everything was one blur after another. After a minute, I felt so cold. So, so cold.
"Snow..?" I heard Landon whispered as I looked up. The tablet had finally slowed down, and white, fluffy flakes of snow fell to the ground, covering the world in a white carpet. I squealed in joy. I had prayed it would snow, and it had. I jumped up, as the stone tablet stopped moving. I caught a snowflake, enjoying it as it melted slowly in my hands. Unfortunately, I was extremely cold. My lips turned blue and my hands were almost as pale as the snow. I was shivering so hard. My vision got a little blurry even. Landon hurriedly took off his coat and draped it on me, screaming orders to get me inside the castle immediately. I felt two hands grab me, but I didn't resist. I followed them, dazed and confused.
Warmth. Warmth hit me hard. My body immediately relaxed as I felt it. I looked, and I almost fell back down again. Oh my god.
I was standing in the largest room I had ever seen. Creamy, white pillars were lined evenly, touching the ceiling. A marvellous, deep red colour was painting into the walls and curtains, giving the room a royal look. A humongous chandelier was above my head, the crystals glistening and brighting the room. Beneath me was a gorgeous designed brown carpet, the material soft and amazing. In front of me, a small staircase led to two, tall and beautiful looking chairs, one taller than another. I slowly realised where I was. This was the throne room. The seats were the thrones. People sat either side below the staircase. Two people were by my side, holding me up.
"She's awake!" I heard one of them say, as everyone whispered quietly to each other.
I was so dazed. Where was Landon? Where was I? Why was I here? I blinked my eyes a few times, adjusting to everything. Everyone was staring at me, most of them whispering to one another. I felt Landon's coat still on my shoulders. I reached for it, enjoying the warmth of it.
"Hello." I say, my voice echoing in the room. Everyone stops speaking, as I was about to say something else but then the doors behind me opened.
I turned, and much to my relief, Landon stood there, his face coated with...worry?. The second he saw me, relief washed away everything else.
