Winter
It's been around six weeks and Autumn, my love, has been improving slowly but surely. We are getting closer to her discharge date; we just need to make our home accessible as, unfortunately, she is paralyzed from the waist down. But that's okay; we adapt and learn.
AUTUMN
I'm feeling pretty good. Yes, it has been tough adjusting to being a wheelchair user, but I'm just glad to be alive. It was very touch-and-go for a while, Winter told me, but he knew I would fight and make it out, and I have.
Today he's visiting, as he has been doing all along. I'm so thankful to have him as my rock and lover. I'm ever so grateful for all his hard work taking care of Fraye while I haven't been able to.
WINTER
I'm getting myself and Fraye ready to go to the hospital to spend time with her. I'm ever so proud of her progress. Yes, we have had our fair share of moments together, from finding out she can't walk to many others, but she's so strong.
I am now just going up to her room. As I open the door, I see her deep in thought. I go sit next to her, choosing not to disturb her, instead just sitting with her until she notices me.
AUTUMN
I sit deep in thought for a while until I hear Fraye, our daughter, squall, which pulls me from my thoughts.
My sweet! Looking at him, "Yes, my love," he says.
We spent our time talking while I hold Fraye in my arms. She's just even more special now. I thought we didn't have one, but here we are. We got the call; someone mixed our baby up with another family's. I love her so much! The time flies by, and before we know it, I have to say my goodbyes for the day, but I get to see them again tomorrow, so I'm happy.
