Winter has been a few days since the car crash, and we have been devastated. Autumn hasn't left the bedroom at all.
Until I get the call that changed her life forever...
It was the hospital I answered.
W - Winter
H - Hospital
W - "Hello," I say, sniffing.
H - "Yes, we have good news," the nurse says.
W - "Really? What is it?"
H - "It turns out that the nurse confused your baby with someone else's."
W - "Wait, so our baby is alive?"
H - "Yes, would yourself and Autumn be able to come? She's ready to go home."
W - "Yes, of course. Let me tell her and we'll be on our way."
Winter hangs up and says, "Okay, it's time to tell Autumn. She's going to be desperate to get there."
"Autumn, are you awake?" I say. I hear a quiet "yeah." I enter and sit by her, "Autumn, you know the hospital called. They said a nurse mixed up our baby with someone else. She's alive," I say.
Autumn replies, "Really? Then let's go," as we quickly get to the car and strap in. We're about to speed to the hospital when we are halfway there.
CRASH! THE CAR IS EXPOSED.
Winter looks around while stuck and sees Autumn...
