Before proceeding to the chapter, I made a slight mistake in the previous chapters that I just noticed now. In chapter 18, I have changed the name of the ex-fiance of Calvin, several times, and I don't know how (might be a faulty of docs), it didn't change to the final name of the character, that is — Amelia Grant. SO, to clear stuff up, Calvin's ex-fiance's name is AMELIA GRANT, and the person that we talked about last chapter, the one very dear to Calvin, her name is Catherine. Anyway, I hope that is cleared. Now,

Chapter 22: Trip.

Bella Richards

What can be better than a free trip abroad, attend a beach wedding and enjoy partying with your old friends? Yes, I have been very lucky that this kind of privilege has dawned upon me, and I credit my friend for being rich and marrying abroad; also my husband for booking the tickets without taking a penny from me even when I insisted. Coming to my husband, he's looking even more handsome to me these days, and I can't help thinking about all the sultry LDR songs whenever I look at his tired, dull, stoic, and sad face. His sharp eyes, his sharp jaw, beautifully shaped beard, soft lips, manly hands, a great build, and his gentlemanly personality — and yes, I fall for him even deeply. And you know the twist? He literally makes me fall in love even more deeply without even trying.

But, there's one thing that I have noticed in him these days. Although his resting face is dull and stoic, an emotion of sadness and dullness has also casted over him. It feels as if his heart is crying inside, and there is none to pacify it. Even today, when he was speaking with Lia, he seemed very upset; his face had lost its colours. And that's what I don't like about him — his upset face. But, I don't even have the right to ask him.

Anyway, I keep my excitement low-key as I trail behind him as we cross the private pavement that the faculty provided to us because of the crowd there — thanks to his business card. A smile had taken its permanent place on my lips as his veiny hands had held my soft, smaller ones in his hold leading me to the bridge access area; his other hand holding my bags, not letting me hold them even when I insisted. How am I not supposed to fall for you, hubby?

"Give me the bags, Bella. You're holding almost three handbags, and it makes me uncomfortable seeing you in this state." I recall his words, and smile like a fool.

Finally after we settled in the business class, I looked in awe because I had never had this experience, but had to keep it subtle because of civility that had to be kept especially when you're the wife of such a rich and famous personality.

"Window or aisle?" said he, as soon as we reached our seats. I was confused on what to choose, unaware of his choice.

"I'm okay with both." I smiled, politely, while I secretly wished for the window one.

"I'll take the aisle then. Settle in." he says, settling in seat after keeping our bags inside the overhead bin. I soon settled in the window seat which was spacious enough for me to sleep on it, literally. There was also this separating thing that would give us both privacy, but honestly I didn't want it.

I took out my earphone and 'Pride and Prejudice', my favourite book no doubt, from my handbag that was big enough to fit in these. Anyway, I dived into my world of Jane Austin's fictional world as I read through the pages while Lana's voice echoed in my ears. Both my favourites at a time — heaven, I swear. Another one of my favourites is sitting beside me, by the way.

Coming to him, he was working on his laptop, his shoes neatly kept near some cabinet in the seat itself. Hell, how is this man such a clean freak and perfect? Anyway, he looked even more heavenly with those glasses that adored right above the bridge of his nose while his fingers typed gracefully on the keyboard of his laptop. He was absolutely a runway from the book, or classics. And dare I say I imagine him as Mr. Darcy and myself as Eliza as I read the book.
