Chapter 20: A message.
Bella Richards
I groaned as I held my head in my hands. Memories of last night were playing repeatedly inside my head. What kind of drugs was I on that I fucking slept on the couch when I was supposed to wait for him and talk to him? Now, I'm waking up at fucking 8 in the morning. It's not very early or very late. The thing is that he leaves around this time because of overtime. Now how am I supposed to apologize for yesterday's drama, and ask him about the event? Wow bella.
In the rush, I also forgot to inform you all that we will be staying for 2 days, as after the engagement, they will be getting married in the sea beach near the city, so we are supposed to attend it.
After I washed my face and did my morning routine, I wore my work clothes in a hurry, careful that I don't take much time and I would miss my chance to talk to him. I went downstairs after fetching my laptop after setting my hair with my brush.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I saw him in the living room, sitting on the sofa with his tablet in his left hands as he sipped his morning green tea, while his eyes - adorned by his fancy glasses - scanned through the letters of the article he was reading.
"Morning." I smiled at him as I walked towards the living room, and sat on the couch.
"Morning," he looked at me with a nod of acknowledgment. A smile could've been nice, but no worries.
"uh...I'm sorry for last night, I couldn't talk to you properly, and also I was sleep-"
"It's okay. You wanted to talk about something?" He said, turning his tablet off to keep it on the table, while my eyes got stuck on his arms that flexed his strong muscles and veins - simply I was simping over him - he looked at me, his facial features relaxed.
"Yeah, in fact." I said, "well..." I bit my lower lip, keeping my intrusive thoughts to myself.
"So the thing is that...one of my close friends is getting married in Copenhagen, Denmark. And she has invited us and requested for us - as in me and you - to come...So, are you free? like on the 25th to 28th-ish?" I said, my voice calm, "I mean you don't have to go if you don't feel like it. It's completely fine-"
"Your friend's engagement, and wedding?" he shrugged, "I'll go, if you wish to as well. I've checked my schedule, I'll be free." he said simply sipping his green tea.
"Yo-you don't have any problem?" said I, confused.
"No." he says, his tone calm. "As long as you don't." he sipped his tea.
I blush, "I meant, if you would feel uncomfortable around people that aren't like..." don't use the word, "like...you - classy...and rich. Get what I mean?"
He smiled and took his reading glasses off gently, "you also went out of your comfort zone to attend the event with me? So, why should I not as well? And it doesn't have to be that I'll only be involved with people who match my standards - it's a misconception. We ought to mix with different types of people for a broader set of minds. And besides, I don't see any problem with mixing in with your friends - whom I believe are harmless; I'm doing my duty as a husband that is." he shrugged, his tone calm and soothing. It felt that he was very relaxed with it, and he didn't find any problems in attending an event in the midst of his work - considering his company went through a minor loss a few weeks ago, which he worked hard for - and on top of with people he didn't know of.
