Ch 17: Glimpse of the past.

Happy reading!

- Bella Richards -

The golden sunbeams dappled through the leaves, casting playful shadows on my face as I twirled. The warmth of the sunlight on my skin felt like a gentle embrace. I twirled around in the garden – carefree of the surroundings and the world that concerns me. The tune of the violin repeated in my head as I waltzed alone in the center of it all. Beside me, was the fountain creating a peaceful lapping sound to my ears. I had my eyes closed yet I could visualize the whole surroundings, as if I knew it by birth.

I was dancing alone, with the imagination of my husband holding me by the waist and guiding me through the area; it made me smile. Whatever work it might be, if it was with him, then I'm happy to do it. He makes me shine even though I might be looking not-so eye-catching. He makes me feel like I'm special; even though I might not be. He makes me feel as if I'm an angel who had taken birth on earth, even though it's not true. He does it, effortlessly.

Just then, I heard footsteps behind me. I opened my eyes and stopped my movement. I had a feeling it was him, knowing his way of movement and gracefulness.

Our left hand touched, soon morphing into each other – helping me feel his warmth. His right hand slided on my waist as he brushed his nose on my hair.

"Dancing alone, my love?" He husked near my ears. He turned me to face him and I was quick enough to blush at our proximity. His breath fanned over the bridge of my nose as he smiled at me, with his eyes full of love. He let go of my hand and tugged a strand of hair behind my ears, making me smile. He held my hand again, bringing them closer to his lips.

"Care to share a dance, my love?" He asked with a playful smile as he kissed my fingers, making me giggle and nod. The tune of Die with a smile echoing in the garden, made me smile as I loved it way too much.

We waltzed around the garden, as my pink dress flowed around in rhythm to our giggles and twirls, mingling with the sweet scent of blooming flowers as we danced. His hazel eyes sparkled like diamonds, reflecting the flickering light of the candles, making mine shine with the same passion. The feelings our eyes carried had made my heart skip a beat, getting a sign that he might also have feelings for me. Maybe this loveless marriage might work?

"Bella, you look beautiful." He commented with a smile. My hands, which were placed on his beige cotton shirt, caressed his chest lightly as I smiled.

"You don't look bad yourself." he chuckled.

"Weird way of complimenting, but I love your style." I smiled cheekily as a hue of blush came on my cheeks. Our feets moved in sync as we both just stared into each other's eyes – carefree of the world around us.

The scent of his breath, warm and inviting, mingled with mine as our faces drew closer. His smile, a radiant arc of joy, illuminated his eyes with a newfound intensity. My heart raced in response, mirroring the warmth in his gaze. As he pulled me closer, I kicked off my slippers and stood on his feet, feeling a surge of electricity between us. Our smiles, no longer mere expressions, reached our eyes, reflecting the emotions that we had in our hearts.

"How do you manage to be so elegant and beautiful all the time?" He husked near my lips as we both locked our eyes together and our closeness was increasing with our feets moving. Correction, his feet were moving and I was moving with him as it were on his.

I smiled as my eyes shone, "I don't know. You say." I shrugged and he chuckled.

"Maybe it's just that you were gifted with this quality and it resides in you?" He said, caressing my sides with his thick and long manly fingers.
