I hope you all enjoy my story I'm still struggling with the name, and it may change before I'm done. I look forward to hearing (reading?) your thoughts about my little story. Nicolette is a character I role played back in the day (we won't discuss how far back in the day that was...).
The type of vampire I'm writing about is based off of Vampire the Masquerade, the role play game more so than the game. I will not be following along the story line of the VTM Bloodlines game if that's what you're looking for. Let me give you a little description of the vampires I will write about. You don't have to know this to follow the story, but it might help.
Assamite: Assassin clan they also have scholars and Sorcerers as well but what they're known for is death. (Seems kinda obvious huh?)
Brujah: The muscle, think body builders who take too much steroids. Yep, that means temper and short fuses. They don't have to be huge either, but it doesn't hurt.
Gangrel - They tend to be nomads and have an affinity for animals. They tend to relate more to the animals than humans, though some still remain with the Camarilla, most are independent and prefer to stay "off the grid" They grow claws and can do massive damage but have a tendency to loose their cool and when they do they get an animalistic trait. Yeah I mean they can actually grow a tail. Talk about serious anger management skills required!
Giovanni - They're basically the vampire mob. They only sire their own family, which is huge. And they study necromancy.
Lasombra: They are what most people think of when they think vampire. They have no reflections, their eyes tend to be pitch black, they're pure evil, and control the shadows. With that said, they're kinda like evil Ventrue. Nuff said.(ever had to play two people in the same game? I have several times and you'll meet one of them before this story ends...little Lasombra lady I loved, maybe I'm secretly a Malkavian...who knows.)
Malkavian - Madness network...yep such a mental network exists where the crazy people can keep in touch with each other. Yes, that's disturbing. Malkavians are demented in some way, and I don't mean just the multiple personality type or the talking to walls or stop signs type, they are also serial killers, sociopaths, masochist. Scary clan, you never know what is going to happen when a Malkavian is around.
Nosferatu - Information highway clan, but boy are they nasty to look at. And I don't mean they're just not pretty I mean "it's melting, it's melting" (it being their skin...everywhere *shiver*) ugly. Vomit in your mouth at first sight ugly. Now I feel mean, moving on.
Toreador - The artists of the vampire society. They love everything and everyone and have a weakness of shiny things (not always in the literal sense, but it could be).
Tremere: The mages of the vampires. They practice Thaumaturgy, or blood magic. They are also usually Camarilla and encourage the Masquerade.
Tzimisce - Oh how l wish I could....They are evil, spiritual leaders and scholars of the Sabbat, did I mention evil. They practice Vicissitude, or the magic of bone and flesh shaping. They feel the need to evolve, and they do believe in human testing. :) Not exactly the plastic surgery most would hope for. but could you imagine if you had that power? I can, and have *evil laugh here*.
Ventrue: They are usually successful and rich. They are typically involved with human government and use it to help control the vampire society. They're also usually high ranking in the Camarilla which we will discuss later.
That's most of the clans, well what you might run into in this story anyway, and that's what matters.
I've talked about Sabbat, Camarilla, and Masquerade here's the simplistic descriptions of each: Masquerade: humans believe vampires are a fantasy, lets keep it that way. Play with your food, control your food, don't tell your food your secrets (unless you are a Malkavian, and then it doesn't count).
Camarilla: The good guys, or so they would like you to think. They uphold the masquerade. Usually led by a Prince of each area, and each clan generally has leadership that would represent them in the Camarilla. If you are in the Camarilla you are protected by them, to an extent but are expected to follow the rules.
Sabbat: evil, evil, evil with a side of evil. Obviously they are not a fan of the Camarilla, they don't want to exactly blend in with society and most of the time can't, they just ooze evil. Not to say they totally don't believe in the Masquerade, its more than that. They just don't want to pretend to be human anymore, but they do gather and follow a different type of order. By the way the Sabbat is made up of more than just the Lasombra and the Tzmisce, all clans can "fall from grace" so to speak and join the Sabbat, or at least try.
Independents: are just that they're not protected by the Camarilla and find themselves in a lot of danger because of it, they're rebels who don't want to follow rules and usually end up dead.
If I think of something I forgot as I go along, I will describe it as best I can as the story goes along.
I write when I can. Between working full time, taking care of my family, studying in preparation to returning to college in January I am very busy. When I add a chapter I've usually stayed up till 3 and have to get up at 6 for work. Yep that means I probably didn't edit my work. I'll get around to it some day I'm sure. If you notice something way off let me know. I'll fix it :) thanks! So, I guess I'm saying please be patient with me.
Thank you for reading my story, and please don't forget to vote!
