She dreamed of fire again, memories plaguing her dreams. She gasped as she woke in yet another strange bed. Sitting up slowly trying to understand where she was. Nyrubi sat in a chair across the room watching her. "Its creepy when people watch strangers sleep. In case you're unaware." Nic grumbled as she spotted her.

Nyrubi ignored her comment, lifting to walk across the room. "You're a bit aggressive when you sleep." She put out a candle that was burning at the end of the bed.

Nic sighed. "I've had a rough week. What do you want from me? Demands are getting a little old and you might have to get in line."

"We want nothing from you. However you need guidance and training. Where are you from? Did your Mother not train you?" Nyrubi did not change her tone ignoring the attitude Nic was directing at her.

"I don't want training I just want to be left alone." Nic slipped from the bed pacing. "That sounds nice. Do you think the Vampires intend to leave you in peace? You do not have to stay here you are not a prisoner. But if you leave untrained that's exactly what you will become."

Nic stopped and stared at her. "Fine. Where do we start?"she was hungry, but her frustration at all the changes wanted to just be done with it. "What training have you had?" Nyrubi asked as she sat at the end of the bed, slowly crossing her legs. "Very little. I was young when my mother died, we worked on healing and growing herbs, but it wasn't until just recently that I've really practiced." Her tone relaxing, not in defeat. She grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and pulled it to sit in front of Nyrubi.

"Nicholas brought me to the woods where I learned to control my ability to create or grow things as well as absorb their life force. Its the same with healing." Nyrubi raised her brow slightly. "In what way is it the same as healing?" Nic shrugged. "I can heal myself and others or absorb from others. Does everyone do something different? Or can we do whatever we are taught?"

Nyrubi frowned. "No we cannot all do the same things.  Though some abilities can be taught, not all are, and some are forbidden. I can personally heal, though not heal others. I can slow time, though for a limited distance and a very limited time. Your main powers come from your Mother, was your father magical as well?" Nic shook her head, the man she knew as her father was not magical. Nyrubi nodded and lifted to her feet. "Well first we shall get you some food, then we will visit our library."

She led Nicolette out of the room and down the hall. They were in an apartment complex, currently on the third floor. Symbols were drawn on the walls, hidden from the view of most, but they glowed a little as Nic passed them. She reached out to touch one and it shocked her, she withdrew her hand quickly. "Ow, what the hell?" Nyrubi turned confused. "What?" Noticing the symbols she stared at Nicolette for a moment as if trying to get a reading off of her. "Protection spells, try not to touch anything." she spoke softly before turning and continuing along the hallway.

Nic frowned. "That's dumb. What are you protecting the walls from getting damaged? Nope can't hang a picture on me.' she grumbled following a silent Nyrubi. Nyrubi bit her lip as she walked, the walls were to protect against dark magic, she'd brought someone into their home with dark magic. But, she wasn't full dark, or she wouldn't have gotten a vision of where to find her. She wouldn't have been told to save her. She glanced back nervously at the grumpy distracted teen following her.

"Where did you say you were from Nicolette?" She asked as they neared the kitchen. "Tampa. But I don't have any family here. It was just my Mom, Dad and me though." she nodded. "And you said you dad was mortal?" "Yep, just a normal useless alcoholic mortal. Mom and I had to practice before he got home after our chores. So it didn't really leave a lot of time."
