The next day wasn't awkward at all. Nicolette got up before him and fixed herself food. Making sure to be out on a run with Sabra when he woke up. She didn't know what possessed her to sleep with him, but she wouldn't make that mistake again. She came home and immediately showered and dressed for working in her garden. She would focus on her magic and hope he would give her a little space.
Nicholas woke alone, though he was aware when she had left. He wasn't concerned that she would leave. He sighed as he slipped out of bed and got ready for his clan meeting. He couldn't baby sit her daily. He still had responsibilities and she was definitely a distraction. He was on his way out as she came in from her run. He stood in the doorway of his room just out of site watching her enter and retire to her room without a word. Sabra joined him, nuzzling into his leg. "It's all right girl, come on we have to go."he spoke to her softly before leaving, Sabra following at his heels.
Days went by without the two speaking. Nicolette got into a routine and was pleased with her progress with her powers. The two were avoiding speaking to each other, but she felt him watching her. They had a meeting with the Prince in a week and although he was intrigued with her progress he wasn't sure if it was enough to keep the Prince interested.
The evening of the meeting Nicholas found her waiting in the family room when he woke. She was wearing black leather pants that were cut so low it stirred something inside of him. She wore a silky grey simplistic tank that was shorter in the front, exposing her firm stomach. His lips lifted into a smirk at the red stiletto five inch heels. She looked up and frowned at that smirk. "Don't look at me like that, I didn't pick these clothes. I'm not sure what Amber thought my role here would be. I have yoga pants and t-shirts or stripper clothes. I'd like to go shopping when this is over."
"That's hardly stripper clothing, Nicolette. But if you would like to get clothes that can be arranged."He walked to her offering her his hand. She raised a brow at his gesture, but took his hand lifting to her feet. "Can you even walk in those shoes?" the smirk could be heard in his tone. "Yes I can walk in the damn shoes. Lets go." She grumbled brushing past him heading for the door. He chuckled to himself and followed her out, Sabra in tow.
They were almost there when he glanced over at her, his eyes trailing up her legs to her expose belly. She was staring out the window at the water as they crossed the bridge. "You look beautiful Nicolette." She felt the blush on her face, taking a calming breath before looking over to him. "Thank you." "Stay close to me when we get there, do not venture off, and do not hold eye contact with anyone, try not to touch anyone. Our powers are different for each of us, some mental others physical. Elysium should be a safe zone, but you're human so our standards toward you are a bit different."
She nodded and looked back out the window. "You haven't taught me anything about your laws." "It's hard to do that when you are avoiding me Nicolette. We can discuss them now if you would like."She didn't meet his gaze, a brief thought of their night together raised her heart rate a little before she dismissed it chewing at her lip a little. He fought a grin eyes remaining on the road ahead, placing his hand on her thigh. "I understand that you need to keep your distance to control your feelings toward me." Her cheeks darkened a little as she brushed his hand off her thigh, turning to glare at him. "I was avoiding you, you think because we had sex that I can't control myself? Sure, it, you were amazing and I don't think I've ever felt that way before, but you're not that irresistible." Her hand flew up over her mouth, what is wrong with me she thought. "Forget it, what are your laws? I don't want to say I don't know if she asks."
He side glanced at her, he was once a pet of sort of a Toreador before he was embraced, he knew he had tendencies to tease. He definitely had a reputation of being a bit of a man whore, but that was mostly politics, he'd never really felt anything for any of them. "You don't have to be ashamed." "I'm not ashamed, focus Nicholas, what's the damn laws." He laughed and pulled off of the main road just past the bridge and turned into the parking facing the bay. Without a word he exited the car and walked around opening her door. "Walk with me." She frowned, but took his offered hand and stepped outside of the car.
