Narrator

Hanni had gotten up in the middle of the night to check up on Minji when she noticed Y/n helping Yunah escape. She didn't think much of it because she had thought about doing the same a few hours earlier. So, she just let it happen. M

"Don't worry. I'll tell Minji I let her go," Hanni assured Y/n as she tucked them back in bed.

"But why?" Y/n asked.

"I have my reasons. Don't worry. Just focus on resting and getting healthy," She kissed Y/n's forehead and left the room to go check on Minji.

- Hanni POV -

I felt conflicted.

After what Minji told me over the holidays, I got to doing a bit of investigating myself. I did it under the radar to make sure Minji didn't think I didn't trust her...

But I was right to not trust her on this one.

It wasn't that she lied...

It's that she was withholding information out of fear that everything would change.

"Wake up!" I slammed the office door closed.

"Huh?!" Minji jolted up from her desk.

"Care to tell me why you haven't done what the Yakuza head wants?" I coldly asked.

I had recently learned that Minji had already collected all the information she needed to help Miyawaki out. She had even received two letters from the Yakuza head. One to confirm that his daughter was okay and another to propose a deal about letting his daughter retire.

"Where's Yunah?" Minji was distracted by the fact that Yunah was gone.

"I let her go. Now, answer my question," I sat on the chair across her desk.

Minji stared me down without an answer. She knew she had to be strategic and not assume what knowledge I already had. But, I wasn't here to play games with her. I already knew it was a matter of time before The Punks came knocking at our door for beating one of their own.

"I already know that you collected the information needed to help Miyawaki. I know that everything she said is true. I also know that you're trying to take the clubhouse from Y/n so they don't leave us. I know that all Miyawaki has to do is agree to meet with her father and bring Y/n with her to be allowed out of the family business," I laid all my cards on the table.

I didn't want Minji to think that she could find a loophole out of this one.

"Fine," Minji sighed.

"It's because if we agreed to the terms then Y/n would most likely have to marry Miyawaki," She poured herself a glass of wine.

"So what? They're dating. If it doesn't-"

"No. They're not," Minji didn't even let me finish.

"They're not what?" I asked a bit confused.

"Y/n and Sakura are not dating. They're just pretending because The Yakuza is keeping an eye on Miyawaki. They don't mess with private citizens who don't serve them a purpose so Miyawaki is essentially using Y/n as a shield," She explained.

"And you're allowing this?!" I angrily got up from my seat.

"It was at Y/n's request. Like I said, Y/n rarely asks us for help... so, I couldn't refuse..," Minji sighed.

"In return for Y/n's help. I asked Miyawaki to take care of Y/n. Keep an eye on Yunah. Make sure no one else is hurting Y/n. Y/n still needs to finish school after all," She continued to share what was really going on.
