"It's over Anakin, I have the high ground!"
"You underestimate my power!" Anakin roared tempestuously over the flow of the lava beneath him. He had always been underestimated, seen as the boy saved by the Jedi's- but Anakin was beyond that, he was beyond everyone and everything. Anakin Skywalker believed he could control his own fate, it was a telling yet tragic allusion that he would ever think that, but jealously, betrayal and abandonment encouraged each of his actions. Obi-Wan represented the Jedi order, everything he had now turned his back on, he didn't support him nor understand him in the young Jedi's mind, but truthfully the older Jedi knight was mourning the man in front of him.
Obi-Wan felt like he had failed Anakin and therefore because of that, he had failed Odessa too "Don't try it!"
He leaped, a complete submission to the dark side which had seemingly welcomed him with open arms, Anakin was struck down physically but Obi-wan was diminished mentally, his own actions sending a overpowering wave of devastation. But the damage was done the moment Odessa Tove and Anakin Skywalker's eyes met, he would allow his own fears and hunger for power to consume his existence every time whilst the others were left to pick up the disfigured pieces.
The fire in his eyes painted them red, a deep glow that threatened to bleed. After everything Vador lay in a consequence of his own actions, clawing for life as he became the one thing he promised himself he would never become; powerless. His skin was scorned, the fire spreading agonisingly up his body, he thought about her, how it had always been her. Every burn, every pain was worth it, his only anger was that he had failed to not only save himself, but Odessa too. Anakin Skywalker was burning in his own sins, but even in horrific agony his fury only grew.
"You were the chosen one!" Obi-Wan cried whilst he retreated further up the gravel, no matter how much his brain told him to walk away, he couldn't turn his back on Anakin yet. This was his brother, sweat settled on top of his skin "It was said that you would destroy the sith not join them!"
"...bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness." He had lost everything, all of them had. Obi-Wan clutched onto the last thing left of his former padawan, his lightsaber. Odessa deserved something to remember her husband by.
Anakin squirmed in complete and utter hatred "I hate you!"
There was no more anger from the older man's side, Obi-Wan rather staring back at Anakin with sorrow and regret. He could never bring himself to hate Anakin, no matter how hard he tried to hate him in the moment "You were my brother Anakin- I loved you- Odessa loved you!"
