4 months since the death of Odessa Tove..
Everyone comes into the world covered in blood; it's only symbolic that you exit it that way also.
The galaxy was overlayed with the abundant vermillion liquid, it had been for months now, since the rise of the vicious galactic empire and fall of the Jedi. Everyone was swept into darkness under the control of the chancellor and the new imperial ruling council, it was a ruinous and treacherous time filled harrowingly with hardship and despair. Innocent blood was being spilled under the consequence of rebellion, but nonetheless the world kept on turning and many swore from above that they would never forgive the universe for allowing such treason, even though their opinions were now dead and nonexistent.
Whilst everything changed around her, Odessa Tove remained the same. As the weeks cruelly passed her memory faded; the galactic empire was making sure of it, every record of such political figures were burnt forcefully to the ground, until the only thing that remained was her casket itself. She never moved from that spot, her eyes remained sealed and her body abided by the constraints of the temple, her rightful garden and grave.
Ben Kenobi had too been forced into the safety of the shadows, the last remaining Jedi's were being hunted down and their numbers were diminishing near to none. He found shelter in Tatooine where he could strip himself from anything other than the necessity's in life, this was his punishment and that was his ultimate debt. The older companion travelled senselessly however to fulfil Odessa's long lasting request; to help Padme raise and protect her children whilst they grew tactfully in the lake country, growing more strikingly similar to their parents as the months went by. He observed and watched but ultimately nothing he did could shake the guilt of still feeling the rush of the heat and stroke of the water, he was a survivor, whilst others more deserving where destined to the ties of death, Odessa Tove and Anakin Skywalker included.
The couple haunted his memories; he saw their faces whenever he closed his eyes, Odessa's own staring lifelessly back at him and Anakin's fury fuelled gaze. Those images would torment him forever; Obi-Wan Kenobi was no longer the man he once was, he was a failure. And that was something he had to live with.
He treaded aversely onto the final step, his hood covering his appearance completely whilst his eyes followed his feet bellow. He had successfully weaselled through the hefty guards looming at the bottom of the mountain, Ben Kenobi was an expert of sneaking up towards the sky, he had become a regular of the temple's allure. Or rather what the pillars surrounded and held.
The weather was biting and hostile, a fierce polar combination of wind and rain. Many were hidden away into the comfort of their homes and he found that the wintry grasp was the best time to visit Odessa, nobody was around and the raw weather concealed anything from such a height. It was a sharp performance, the heavens had opened ironically for the celebration at hand; or rather what would have been considered one. He would have never believed that he would be delivering Odessa red roses on her twenty first birthday, let alone to her grave rather than her comforting grasp.
