"Mummy Leia pulled my hair again!"
She kneeled down, pulling the tray out of the oven whilst she got ready to project her voice. The amount of time she had spent lecturing the importance of 'gentle hands' and not hurting or hitting each one another had yet again gone down the drain, as quick as a switch and easy as a lightbulb.
Odessa shock her head "Leia Organa Tove stop bothering your brother!"
She heard a loud defeating groan, a very dramatic one as a matter of fact before a short cry from the room across from the kitchen "He said that my head was small because I don't have a brain inside it!"
"Right well-" She paused audible, snatching off the gloves as she forced back the urge to laugh "Your smart enough to know that isn't true honey!"
Luke groaned "She's not mum that's the whole point!"
Odessa walked out of the kitchen to the living room, her bear feet treading across the cold wooden floor boards as she moved under the archway of the door frame. The windows were all pulled open, the soft gush of wind travelling through the house with ease as the decorations chimed and lake rushed onto the sand. She could hear the twins arguing further, their voices overlapping one another as they snapped back and forth.
"Enough both of you." She snapped strongly, her arms crossed for a moment before she swiftly took the crayon they were fighting over from their grasp. She bent over with a soft groan, her perfectly curled hair reaching for the floor as her lips stretched to a frown. No matter how well Odessa played the strong lecturing mother, she always struggled being too harsh on them, they were her babies and no matter how much sometimes they made her want to rip her hair out , she wouldn't change it for the world
"But mum-" They wined
"No buts." She finished shortly, before patting their shoulders encouragingly towards the dining table "Get your little bottoms to the table before your lunch gets cold."
Luke wrapped his arms around his mother's leg whilst Leia ran willingly to the table "It's too hot to eat."
Naboo's summer had come in hard for another year running, it was balmy and fiery and the suns ray held no prisoner. But nonetheless Odessa enjoyed the climate, it reminded her off her teenage years spent in the lake country swimming and bathing on the sandy beaches for hours on end.
She sighed, pulling his up in her arms with a groan, she balanced him on her hip as he fiddled with strands of her hair carelessly "You won't be saying that tonight when your starving now will you mr?"
