** Aiden's POV **
I walked out of my house to go to the store to get some the supplies for my plan. I needed poster board, paint, flowers, and some sort of candy. I didn't want to do anything too cliche, but just enough.
I knew Kat wasn't like other girls. She wasn't the kind to want red roses or a box of chocolates, or anything like that. Instead of those, I got her some lilies and a big bag of Swedish fish, which she ate a ton of during the movie night. I just hoped she liked lilies. My sister did and they are similar in personality and likes so far.
I had some trouble finding the supplies I need, having never been to this store in particular, so I had to ask one of the workers."Excuse me sir, could you show me where the poster-board and paints are?"
The man rolled his eyes and said "Follow me" with a heavy sigh.
After my pleasant journey with the employee he left, not even allowing me the time to thank him.
I began to browse the shelves knowing her favorite color was blue, so I bought light blue paint and a darker shade of it too, then repeated the process for the poster board. After receiving a questioning look from the cashier, I made my way over to the grocery store and into the candy aisle to grab the fish. Before I left I bought some Arnold Palmer for my self, not being able to resist a two for one sale.
When I finally got home I had to cut the poster board into smaller parts. I put a small square of light blue on top of a larger square of the dark blue. Being happy with how that looked I glued them together, and made two more.
I'm not the best artist there is, but I wasn't horrible. I found some white paint in a closet in my house and grabbed that, not thinking the blue would be enough. I painted my question in dark blue, and along the dark blue poster board I painted white anchors because I noticed that Kat wears an anchor necklace everyday.
After letting the poster dry, I grabbed tape and crawled out of my window, poster, flowers, and tape in hand. I attempted to tape the poster to Kat's window so the painted side would be facing her. As I was managing it, a car pulled into her driveway. I moved more quickly now knowing that she had just gotten home. Once I finished putting up the poster I opened her window and managed to prop up the flowers on her dresser that was right next to it. As I closed the window she walked into her room and saw me sitting in the tree, seeing the poster in the process.
She made over to her window shaking her head and laughing. She turned her head to the left and grabbed something, the lilies. She raised an eyebrow at me as if to ask if they were from me. My response was only a little grin.
I started to smile even more as she began to open her window. "You are quite the character Aiden. You know.. I might have said yes if you had gotten the right flowers. I like roses. Either pink or red ones to be exact. Not orange and white lilies." she told me, shaking her head at me in disappointment. I immediately felt bad for assuming she wouldn't like roses.
"Really?" I asked disbelief written across my face. "I didn't take you as that kind of girl." I could have sworn she didn't even like the color pink anyway.
"That's because I'm not that kind of girl. I was just messing around with you." she said, letting out a laugh, a smile on her face. "Oh, and to answer your question, yes I will go on two dates with you tomorrow." she told me, laughing again.
"Great."I told her, my grin from ear to ear now. "I'll pick you up at eleven tomorrow morning then." I finished, barely being able to contain my excitement anymore. I didn't know what to expect, but the fact that she said yes I felt as if I could finally breathe.
"That's fine. By the way the anchors were a nice touch and lilies are my favorite flower. Good guess. See you tomorrow morning, and don't be late. I know where you live." she said to me with a wink before closing her window and shutting her curtain.
I had to go get things ready for tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning I knew where I was taking her for a fact and I didn't have to make any plans for it luckily. Tomorrow night though?Tomorrow night was a completely different story. It had to be nearly perfect.
*** AUTHOR'S NOTE ***
Took a break from the torture that is my history summer assignment and freaking out about not being in shape for tryouts to finish this chapter finally. Hope you guys like it. It took me a while to write this because wattpad deleted all but 50 words when I had at least 500. I wasn't happy so I didn't rewrite it right away, not wanting to make the chapter even worse. So sorry for the wait as usual. Thanks for sticking with me.
