They were all glad to get down and away from the mountain, although Gandalf was hesitant to go through the mines of Moria. Unfortunately Legolas had been pulled away from Aragorn by their Dwarf companion who was bragging about how amazing and how much better it would be 'than any elf-made architectures'.
The blonde elf looked over to Aragorn, pulling faces to mock Gimli (who knocked him rather hard when he noticed). They reached the walls of Moria and watched as the moonlight lit up the door. White lines shone through the stone, creating an arch and engraved elvish words. As Gandalf failed to master the password, Aragorn watched the blonde elf - almost mesmerised by him.

What was this feeling?

Legolas could feel eyes studying him but chose to ignore it as everyone failed at the passwords. Gimli was getting visibly frustrated, so he walked over to him.
"Don't you sit here and gloat." He grumbled.
Legolas fiened shock. "I would do no such thing!" The dwarf glared at him. "However it is true that elves would never be so stupid as to forget such an important riddle."

He rose to his feet, grabbing his axe.

Legolas quickly jumped onto a higher ledge of the rock wall as he swung the weapon around at him.

"Legolas, Gimli!" Aragorn shouted, grabbing their attention. Everyone was staring at them with distain. Legolas bowed in apology and jumped over to Aragorn, cheeks flushing.
"Sorry," He smiled, tucking a stray strand of blond hair behind his ear and Aragorn watched my hand intently before looking into the elf's eyes.
He opened his mouth to say something, but his eyes flickered behind him, and he tackled Legolas to the ground.

There was an axe flying through the air, and a splash where it landed, but Legolas could only focus on the beauty laying on top of him.

In different circumstances.....

He turned his head to the side, cheeks burning. No. He can't think like that.

Aragorn leapt up. "You dare to disturb the water?!" He yelled.
Gimli was hesitant to respond, and as he went to speak there was a rumble. The door had opened.
"Everyone inside!" Gandalf called.
Gimli walked beside Legolas, gloating. "Just wait, Elf. You will be greeted with roaring fires, and a meal fit for a king!" He smirked.

But it was earily quiet as they entered, and the air smelt wrong.

Gandalf produced a white light and Gimli produced a loud wail.

Dead bodies.
Skeletons.
His kin, lay scattered on the floor.
Weapons in hand and horror on their faces.

Legolas put a hand on the dwarf's shoulder as he passed. He would not wish this upon his greatest enemy...

They watched, heart broken, as Gimli cried for the dwarves.

Legolas walked to a body, an arrow perturbing it's skull.
"An Orc's weapon," He said. "We are not safe here." He turned to the outside, but stopped, and grabbed Aragorn's arm tightly.

He spun.

There, raising from the water, a monstrous beast. It eyed them, lifting a slimy tentacle towards the cave - towards them. And before they could do anything it grabbed Frodo, dragging him into the murky water...

I didn't even know what to with this scene. Ugh. Sorry.

I'll update again tomorrow, and I'll try to more frequently. I have loads of ideas for this story, but I have to get through these parts (and idk about you guys but I HATE time lapses in books - exception of prologue/epilogues)

Don't be a ghostie
