Song - Talking To Ghosts - Foxes.
Pic of Oliver to the side
The next morning was a whirlwind of regrets, pain and naseau. It was annoying enough to Harvey that his entire body hurt, his phone was blowing up with all sorts of messages from people he would like to avoid right now adding to the pain he felt mentally. The previous night was probably a version of hell on its own. And the worst part was that Harvey knew it would only be the beginning.
The incident with Elena had been the ice breaker. In a way he knew it was coming, but he hadn't expected her to be the one to end things. In honesty he wasn't sure if the ache he felt was because he missed her or because she had embarrassed him.
Reluctantly, he allowed his hand to wander around and peel his phone from where ever it had been flung the previous night. The phone was currently buzzing even as he held it up. Harvey managed to remember password for his phone and played each of the messages he got at the lowest possible volume.
The first was from Jake.
Um I hope you're ok. You were pretty wasted last night and started saying something about a cursed Oli kid.
Damn.
The next was surprisingly Elena.
Harvey I am so sorry about what happened last night. Please I didn't mean anything I said, it was Sasha's stupid idea to go to the party last night. Please call me. I love you.
Her last three words made him wince. Calling her would be something he planned to do only if he was forced for now.
The next was from Kale.
Fuck man. Heard what Elena did. That bitch was sick anyways. Don't worry, we'll find you a hot piece in no time.
The prospect didn't satisfy him as much as it normally should have. The last message was from his father surprisingly.
Arriving in Bejing tommorow. Just letting you know.
He listened to that message over and over again because his dad never sent him any information regarding his itinerary. Or ever really enquired more about his well-being than was necessary. It wasn't as though his father completely ignored and neglected him, the man was just so used to throwing himself into his work that everything else naturally fade away from him. But this level of...... affection (if he could call it that?) was unheard of before. But Harvey had no time to linger over it as his bedroom door barged open to reveal his mother.
"You've nearly slept the whole day Harvey. Time to get up." She said without missing a beat. He groaned covering his head with the comforter but she wasn't having any of that at all. She pulled it up exposing him completely. It was a good thing he had remembered to leave his boxers on the previous night.
"What do you want?" Harvey managing to keep the right dose of annoyance and spite in his voice.
"We've been invited for brunch at La Belle Huître." She replied.
He cocked an eyebrow facing his mother "We? Why don't you just go alone like you always do? You need me for anything."
Her countenance was switching to annoyed very quickly "Is there anything wrong with you being there with me? You're my son and you don't have to question me."
"No I just want to." He mumbled into his pillow. She folded her manicured hands "Get up. We're going in thirty minutes."
And with that she left the room. Maybe it childish but Harvey wished that she left him alone forever. It was better than pretending to care. Who was he kidding? She didn't even pretend.
