A Valentines Special Chapter

For once, the mansion wasn’t filled with tension.
No silent glares. No heavy conversations. No awkward family secrets weighing down the air.
Just the scent of chocolate and the sight of Mikey stealing heart-shaped cookies from the kitchen.
I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. It was Valentine’s Day.
A day that should be about love and happiness, not whatever chaos we have been dealing with lately.
And Yaz?
She had declared that we were all celebrating, whether we wanted to or not.
“Oi, Mikey! Put those back!” Yaz swatted at his hands as he stuffed another cookie into his mouth.
Mikey, unfazed, chewed like nothing happened. “Mmph… too late.”
Yaz glared. “Those were for later!”
Baji snickered, leaning against the counter. “C’mon, Yaz. It’s Mikey. You should’ve known better.”
Yaz sighed dramatically. “Ugh, I give up.”
“Good choice,” Mikey said, reaching for another cookie.
She smacked his hand away.
I laughed at the scene in front of me. It was rare to see everyone so relaxed after everything that happened.
Draken was helping in the kitchen (which was terrifying because the last time he cooked, the fire alarm went off). Chifuyu and Baji were arguing over who would get the biggest box of chocolates.
For the first time in weeks, things felt normal.
Then, of course…
Izana walked in.
The moment he stepped inside, the energy shifted.
Not in a bad way, though.
More like… nobody knew how to act around him yet.
Izana took a deep breath. “Wow. You guys are loud.”
Baji rolled his eyes. “What, you don’t celebrate Valentine’s?”
Izana smirked. “I do. Just not like this.”
Chifuyu squinted. “And what does that mean?”
Izana ignored the question and instead—
He casually walked over to the counter and picked up one of the chocolate boxes.
The nicest one, wrapped in a silk ribbon.
“Oh, hell no.” Yaz crossed her arms. “That’s mine.”
Izana just grinned and—
Offered it to her.
The room went silent.
